TURN ON AND TURN OFF THE TOOL
Insert the battery (5) into the pruning shears housing. Once
the battery has been fitted, press and hold switch button (4) for
about one second. A long acoustic signal will be heard.
Press the trigger (6) quickly twice in succession. A double
acoustic signal will be heard and the blade will open. At this
point the machine is ready to be used.
To switch your pruning shears off, close the blade (1) by double
pressing the trigger (6) and holding it for 2s : you hear a signal
when the pruning shears is in holster mode. Then release the
trigger and press the switch (4) for 1 second. You can also
switch the pruning shears off temporarily using the Holster
mode (please refer to the "Holster mode" paragraph).
After 3 minutes of inactivity, the tool will automatically be put
in sleep mode. After 10 minutes of inactivity, the tool will auto-
matically be turned off.
SEMI-OPEN MODE
The user can set the blade to the semi-open mode at any time.
That can be useful while cutting branches of small diameters.
To enable the semi-open mode, double click quickly on the trig-
ger until a double acoustic signal is heard. Release the trigger
to continue working.
When the semi-open mode is activated, the LCD screen (3)
shows "1/2".
To go back to the full opening mode, please follow the same
procedure.
PROGRESSIVE MODE
The pruning shears can be used in progressive mode or in
non-progressive mode. To switch from one mode to the other,
turn-on the tool, then click 3 times quickly on the switch button
(4). A double acoustic signal can be heared.
• Non-progressive mode : the blade will automatically close
fully once the trigger is pressed
• Progressive mode : the blade will move accordingly to the
position of the trigger
HOLSTER MODE
The holster mode of the pruning shears enables you to keep
the blade closed without using the switch (4) To enable that
mode, double click on the trigger (6) and keep it pressed for
2 seconds : a single acoustic signal will be heard to indicate
that the shears are in stand-by mode. To resume work, press
the trigger twice quickly, the blade will move to open position
(as before closing) and it will be possible to perform a new
cutting cycle.
The pruning shears will automatically switch to holster mode
after 3 minutes without pressing the trigger.
CAUTION This does not amount to switching off the tool, but
just helps you to store the tool in its holster. Be careful and pay
attention, because a movement (double click) of the trigger (6)
will open the blade (1).
CUT SHIELD
The CUT SHIELD safety system can be activated or deacti-
vated. We recommend to keep this safety system always ON.
To switch OFF the CUT SHIELD safety system, turn-off the tool,
then hold the trigger (6) and press the switch button (4) and
hold the trigger pressed for 10 seconds until the word "SAFE"
disappear from the LCD screen. A triple acoustic signal can
be heared.
Please follow the same procedure to reactivate the CUT
SHIELD safety system.
NOTE: Once the system has blocked a cut and gone into safety,
reactivate the pruning shear by pressing the trigger twice.
CHANGE SOFTWARE MODE
The FELCO 834 is able to work in different conditions with
different cutting heads (VINE, WOOD, HOOF).
To switch from a mode to another mode, hold the trigger (6) for
15s when the tool is ON (blade open). The LCD screen shows
you the mode selected (VINE » WOOD » HOOF » VINE »...).
Please always use the mode adapted to the cutting head ins-
talled on the pruning shears to ensure maximum performance.
LED LIGHT
The FELCO 834 is equipped with a LED light (8) in front of
the pruning shears. This LED can be activated or deactivated.
To switch from a mode to another, press the trigger (6) for 5s
when the tool is ON (blade open).
LCD SCREEN
When the pruning shears is turned on, the LCD screen (3)
displays :
• If the SAFE mode is activated (top left side)
• Which MODE for the cutting head is activated (top left
side)
• Which blade cut opening mode is activated (bottom left
side)
• The battery level in percentage.(top right side) This
number can fluctuate during the use and will stabilize after
few seconds of inactivity (Top right side)
• The number of cuts made since the tool has been switch
on (bottom right side)
