INTRODUCTION

This device is designed for quick-response detection of
moisture in Wood and GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester)
for boats or in caravans/camping trailers.
The MC-550N allows moisture detections to a depth of
approximately 30 - 40 mm. Simply place device
flat onto the surface and turn on with the button.
– no injection into the object is required!
The MC-550N moisture detector can be used for:
• Identify the presence osmosis (surface blistering) in
fiberglass/polyester of boat hulls and in caravans
• Identify if wooden boats are dry before painting or
varnishing
• For detection and tracing of leaks
• Find electrical cables and metal bars

OPERATION

1. Place the MC-550N onto the surface and turn on with
the on-button to detect any presence of moisture or
leaks. For correct measurements, the bottom sensor
must be placed completely on
the flat surface of the material
to be measured.
2. The device shows the amount of
moisture to the moisture content
in the material. The difference
between dry and wet material is
indicated and the result should
not be treated as the exact moist
content in terms of weight.
3. The display value is proportional
and depends on the density and the humidity of the
material to be measured and can be interpreted as
follows:
