• Application/Adjustment
Donning
• Orient the Alpha Classic Sleeve with Ori-
ginal fabric so that the partial fabric cover
on the interior of the sleeve covers the
brim area of the socket. This is especially
important circularly and in the anterior area
in order to prevent damage to the sleeve.
• The exposed gel area above and below
the partial fabric cover should touch the
skin (or liner) and socket, respectively.
Trimming
It is not likely that a sleeve will have to
be cut to a shorter length. If trimming is
required, however, use shears, a paper
cutter, a rotary cutter (WW.700-TL002)
in combination with a straight edge or
pinking shears. Pinking shears will help dis-
tribute the stress to the soft tissue at the
proximal end of the sleeve to a larger area.
Make sure not to shorten the sleeve too
much. The remaining distal and proximal
gel areas always have to be large enough
to create a reliable seal. Cutting the sleeve
too short and thus impairing its functionality
is not covered under warranty.
