Installation
1. Connect the HDMI source with the Input of the Audio Extractor.
2. Connect the HDMI display to the Output of the Audio Extractor.
3.
Plug in the power supply of the Audio Extractor.
4.
Connect the coaxial or TOSLINK output with the digital input of your receiver.
5. Connect the analogue output to a headphone or active speakers.
Operation
When the device is connected to the power supply, the Power LED will be red.
When an HDMI signal on the input is detected, the Power LED lights up blue.
With the button 2CH/5.1CH you can switch between stereo and multichannel
output. The default setting is 2 channel, and the LED is off. Switching will signal
with EDID data to the HDMI source that a 5.1 multichannel audio device is
connected. The HDMI signal is disconnected temporarily, and the multichannel
LED will light red.
The digital and analogue outputs are active in all operating modes, even when no
monitor is connected. When multichannel output is selected, the stereo analogue
output will get the "Front Right" and "Front Left" channels; decoding of the
multichannel signal is not supported.
Note
Only when the HDMI source supports multichannel audio output, the device can
be switched between 2.0 and 5.1 channels. Connected to HDMI devices with
stereo output, there will always be 2 channel playback, regardless of the switch
position or LED.
