Depending on the door construction and installation location of the
transmitter, communication may be very weak or non-existent, especially
in the case of steel doors. The external aerial (B 5528 0910) significantly
improves communication between a transmitter (handheld radio
transmitter, wall-mounted radio module I/O (FMIO)) and the radio battery
lock. This must be mounted on the side facing the transmitter.
The external aerial must be positioned according to the door hardware
used and the door construction. We recommend using the fitting template
(C59656010).

3.8.1 Installation of external aerial B 5528 0910
Use the drilling template provided (C59656010) to position the external
aerial in the best possible way. Ensure that the installation position of the
lock is correct.
„ Remove the lock before making the drill hole.
External aerial (optional)
With steel doors, insulating coatings (paint, foil, etc.) must be
removed from a small area around the hole. The collar of the
installation sleeve is in direct contact with the conductive surface
and that the aerial is earthed.
When carrying out conversions, the building control permit for
the door must be observed with out fail. Changes to a door must
be agreed with the relevant door fabricator.
Make sure the earthing is sufficient before inserting the aerial
connector! Avoid damaging the lock electronics due to static
discharge!
