af) Auto Calculation of Dynamic Parameters
The HM8042 Curve Tracer allows the test and selection
of a wide variety of semiconductors, including diodes,
transistors, FETs, thyristors and optoisolators.
The microprocessor-based instrument features an easy-
access front panel and quickly measures and displays the
characteristic curves of the device under test.
The measured values are digitized and displayed on an X-
Y Oscilloscope for a stable and flicker-free display. All
numerical values and parametric data are displayed on a 4-
digit read-out. Measured parameters are: base voltage,
base current, collector voltage, collector current and Beta.
The HM8042 uses on-screen cursors to define the curve
areas to be measured. The dynamic parameters h,,, h,, and
h,, are calculated by the internal processor.
"Single measurement data can be stored for reference
purposes. This operation mode is very suitable for quick and
easy parameter comparison of two semiconductors to
match.
The microprocessor control and analysis of parametric
data, the flexibility and cost effectiveness of the HM8000
modular series, and the accuracy and reliability that define
HAMEG design all combine to make the HM8042 the low-
cost alternative for professional laboratory applications.
