CHARGING THE BATTERY
The battery of the device can be charged
either via the integrated solar unit (7) or
via the mains power.
It is essential that you charge up the
battery fully before you first use the
device in order to achieve the maximum
charging capacity. If the battery is fully
discharged during use, it must be fully
charged up again before it is next used.
Solar Unit
1. Insert the battery into the device and
connect it to the solar unit (7) (see the
"Assembly" chapter).
2. Place the device in a location where
the solar panel can absorb direct
sunlight all day long if possible. This
allows the battery to charge up during
daylight.
Mains Power
Please Note!
■
Make sure that the USB cable does
not present a trip hazard.
■
Do not charge up on a computer
because the computer might be dam-
aged by the high charging current.
■
Connect a USB mains adapter to a
plug socket that is properly installed.
It must be readily accessible so that
the connection to the mains can
quickly be isolated.
■
Disconnect the battery from the
power source if an error occurs during
charging or before a thunderstorm.
1. Remove the battery from the device
(see the "Assembly" chapter).
2. Connect the barrel connector of the
USB cable (6) to the socket connec-
tor of the battery and connect the A
connector to a suitable USB mains
adapter.
