Safety Instructions
Basic safety measures must always be adhered to when using the device in order to
avoid the risk of fire, electric shock and injury.
Place the laptop so that it is protected against water, dust, humidity and soot.
These environmental influences can lead to an increase in temperature inside the
laptop or cause a fire or electric shock.
Note in particular the following information:
•
Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bath tub, basin, kitchen
sink or in a wet basement. Avoid any possible contact between the product and
any form of liquid.
•
Avoid using this product on mains power during a thunderstorm. There is a risk
of electric shock from lightning.
•
Do not use this product to report a gas leak while you are in the vicinity of the
leak.
To reduce the possibility of heat-related injuries or the laptop overheating, do
not use the laptop directly on your lap and do not block the air vents. Only use
the laptop on a hard, flat surface. Avoid air circulation being blocked by other
solid objects, such as a printer next to the laptop, or soft items, such as bed linen,
carpets or clothing.
While the laptop is in use, also avoid the mains adapter coming into direct contact
with skin and soft surfaces, such as bed linen, carpets or clothing. The laptop and
the mains adapter comply with the temperature limits for user-accessible surfaces
as they are defined in the international standard for the Safety of Information
Technology Equipment (IEC 60950).
