1. Kurzbeschreibung
Das Kondensator-Druckmikrophon TLM 50 ist ein
Studiomikrophon mit der Richtcharakteristik Kugel.
Es zeichnet sich aus durch
•
besonders niedriges Eigengerausch und
hdchste Aussteuerbarkeit,
•
ein neu entwickeltes, transformatorloses
Schaltungskonzept,
•
besonders saubere, freie und verfarbungsfreie
Klangubertragung.
Das Mikrophon hat einen symmetrischen, ubertra-
gerlosen Ausgang. Der Opdige XLR-Steckverbin-
der hat folgende Belegung:
- Stift 1: 0 V/Masse
- Stift 2: Moduiation (+Phase)
- Stift 3: Moduiation (-Phase).
FeidObertragungsfaktor 20 mV/Pa =-34 dB re.
1 V/Pa. Das Mikrophon wird mit 48 V, 2 mA phan-
tomgespeist (DiN 45 596 bzw. iEC 268-15). Die
Membran zeigt zur durch das Neumann-Embiem
gekennzeichneten Seite.
Auf der Ruckseite befinden sich
- ein schaitbarer HochpaB, Grenzfrequenz
(3 dB) 30 Hz („LiN") Oder 100 Hz,
- ein 10-dB-Dampfungsschalter.
Zum Lieferumfang gehoren ein Hoizkasten, ein
10-m-Kabel mit Stativgelenk zur dreh- und
schwenkbaren Montage des Mikrophons auf einem
Stativ sowie eine an das Stativgeienk schraubbare
Neigevorrichtung zum Abhangen des Mikrophons
am Kabei.
Mikrophon und Zubehor haben eine schwarzmatte
Oberfiache.
2. Das Kondensator-Druckmikrophon
TLM 50
Das Kondensatormikrophon TLM 50 ist ein Studio¬
mikrophon der Serie lEt^OO mit der Richtcharak¬
teristik Kugei.
Die Buchstaben TLM stehen fur „Transformatorlo-
ses Mikrophon". Die Zahl 50 ist eine Reminiszenz
an ein fruher von Neumann gebautes Rohrenmi-
krophon, in dem die gieiche, besondere Kapsel-
konstruktionverwendetwordenwar. imGegensatz
zu Druckmikrophonen ubiicher, d.h. zyiindrischer,
1. A Short Description
The TLM 50 is a studio condenser pressure micro¬
phone with omnidirectionai poiar pattern.
Its most important features are
• especiaiiy iow self noise level combined with
highest output capability,
•
a newly developed transformerless circuit,
•
extraordinarily true sound transduction free of
coloration.
The microphone has a balanced, transformerless
output. The 3-pin XLR connector has the following
pin assignments:
— Pin 1: 0 V/ground
— Pin 2: Modulation (-rphase)
— Pin 3: Modulation (-phase).
The output sensitivity is 20 mV/Pa =-34 dB re.
1 V/Pa. The microphone is phantom powered at
48 V, 2 mA (IEC 268-15; DIN 45 596). The axis of
the capsule is at right angles to the main axis of the
microphone and is designated by the Neumann in¬
signia.
At the rear of the microphone may be found
— a switchaWe high-pass; 3 dB point at 30 Hz in
LIN position, or 100 Hz,
— a 10 dB attenuation switch.
The TLM 50 comes in a wooden case with a 10 m
swivel ended cable for attachment to a microphone
stand as well as with an auditorium hanger which
can be used for suspending the microphone from its
own cable.
Microphone and accessories are supplied in matt
black finish.
2. The TLM 50 Condenser Pressure
Microphone
The TLM 50 condenser pressure microphone is a
studio microphone of the IEL|N00 Series with omni¬
directional polar pattern.
The letters TLM stand for 'Transformerless Micro¬
phone". The figure 50 harks back to a former
Neumann tube microphone in which the same
special capsule design was incorporated. In con¬
trast to pressure microphones of conventional,
i.e. cylindrical construction, the transducer of the
