2. Connecting up to the vehicle
Four 1.5 m long leads with quick release clamps, which are
mounted on cable rollers in the appliance, are provided for
connecting up to the vehicle. Only pull out the length of lead
which is actually required each time, as leads which are hanging
down can be easily caught up in the rotating parts of the engine.
The maximum permissible length which may be pulled out is
indicated by a red cable marking. A ratchet locks the cable at
the desired length. The lock is released again by giving the cable
a short pull.

Avoid pulling the cable out to the end stop by force !
2.1. Voltage supply @ and ©)
Connect lead (4) to the battery positive terminal or to terminal
15 of the ignition coil.

Note !
On vehicles with high voltage condenser ignition or with
transistor coil ignition the lead (4) must not be connected to
terminal 15 of the ignition transformer (with HVci up to 450 V)
or the ignition coil, but only to the battery positive pole or an
equivalent terminal.
With vehicles with series resistance for the ignition coil, connect
lead
before the series resistance.
Lead 6) connect this lead to the battery negative terminal or to
a suitable earthing point on the engine.
Should you inadvertently confuse the polarity of leads @ and
© or should the vehicle battery polarity have been reversed,
this will be brought to your notice through lamp (3) lighting up.
2.2. Connection on the breaker contacts @
Connect lead ® to terminal
1 of the ignition coil.
Note !
With vehicles equipped with high voltage condenser ignition and
with transistorized coil ignition the lead
must be connected
to terminal
1
on the ignition distributor.
2.3. Cylinder 1 pick off ©
With all operations, that make the use of the stroboscopic lamp
necessary, the pick off 6) must be clamped over the
insulation of the ignition cable of number 1 cylinder. The
connection point can be selected anywhere between the ignition
distributor and the spark plug of no. 1 cylinder.
The impulse generator lead should not be routed parallel to the
high tension ignition leads !
