Operating instructions for Solaris Elite
Dear Customer
This operating manual contains important information on the commissioning and use of the device. Please read the operating manual carefully before you use the shower. This applies particularly to the safety
instructions, otherwise you can injure yourself or damage the shower. Please keep the operating manual for future reference. If you pass on the shower to someone else, make sure you also pass on this operating
manual. You can also download this operating manual from our Internet site: www.outsideliving.com.
Safety instructions
This device may be used by children from the age of 8 years upwards and by people with physical,
sensory or mental disabilities or lacking suitable knowledge and experience, provided they are
supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device and are aware of the resulting
hazards.
The shower is intended exclusively for private use and is not suitable for commercial applications.
Please only use the shower as described in this operating manual. Any other use is considered to be
improper use and may result in damage to property or personal injury. The shower is not a toy. The
manufacturer or distributor undertakes no liability for damage caused by the improper or incorrect
use.
Check the shower and scope of delivery
Risk of damage
If you open the packaging carelessly with a sharp knife or other pointed object, you may damage
the shower. Remove the shower from the packaging. Check to see whether the shower or any of the
components are damaged. If this is the case, contact the dealer immediately.
Assembly
Assembly/ disassembly of tap
Seal the thread of the tap (9) with Teflon sealing tape and screw the tap (9) on to the shower connection.
Assembling the hand shower
Seal the thread on the shower with Teflon sealing tape and screw the shower hose (6) on to the shower. Then attach the shower hose (6) to the hand shower (5). Make sure that sieve inserts are in the connectors in
both the connection between the shower hose (6) and the hand shower (5) as well as that between the shower hose (6) and the shower.
Assembly/ disassembly of the mixer control
Place the mixer control (7) (with the nose up) on the shower socket, insert the screw (8) into the threaded hole of the mixer control (7) and hand tighten the screw (8).
Installation
The shower must be installed outside on a concrete foundation in a place that receives sunshine throughout the day. Place the shower in the chosen location.
Mark the centres of the 4 holes to be drilled and put the shower to one side. Now drill the holes in the marked positions about 50 mm deep using a Ø10 mm drill bit.
Undo the nuts of the fixing bolts (4) and take out the snap ring with washer.
Place the fixing bolts (4) in the drilled holes, so that the bolts stick up out of the holes. Place the shower upright over the drilled holes, so that the fixing bolts (4)
protrude through the holes of the shower base plate. First, place the washers on to the fixing bolts (4), then the snap rings, and then tighten the nuts.
Commissioning
Water supply connection options
There are two options for connecting the shower to the water supply:
1. Connection using the supplied tap connector (2)
Connect the water hose to the tap connector (2) using a hose connector. Make sure that the supplied seal is in the
tap connector (2).
2. Direct connection with union nut
Unscrew the tap connector (2). Screw the garden hose together with union nut and a seal.
Important!
Do not use any salt or anti-freeze.
Do not under any circumstances attach an additional pump, only a cold water supply with a maximum pressure of 3.5 bar.
Fill the shower
Turn off the tap (9) and turn the mixer control (7) all the way to the right (red position). Now turn on the water at the water connection.
The shower will now fill with water – it can take up to 2 minutes until the shower is completely full.
As soon as water drips out of the hand shower (5), turn the mixer control (7) to the blue position (left).
The mixer control (7) only turns half way round, do not use force, as there is a risk of the internal cartridge breaking and the shower will be irreparably damaged.
Note
The heating-up time depends on the water temperature of the shower, the outside temperature and the intensity of the solar radiation. The wind can also have a negative effect on the heating of the water tempera-
ture. We recommend that you drain the water and replace it if necessary, if you do not use the shower for 3 days. – See 'Non-use/ winter storage' .
Caution!
Under certain circumstances, the water in the shower cylinder pipe can become very hot (up to 60 °C).
Therefore, when using the shower, please comply with the following rules:
- The water temperature can be regulated with the mixer control (7).
- Before you turn on the mixer control (7), make sure that the lever is in the cold water position (BLUE – left).
- Regulate the temperature slowly, by turning the mixer control (7) to hot water (RED – right).
