Use buttons @, ©, ©, ©, @ or ® to select between the various monochrome and
colour
patterns.
If none
of these buttons
is depressed,
only button @, a grey
raster will develop (signal with alternating burst without colour information).
During colour signals, depressing button @) will switch off the PAL coder.
Depressing button @ adds the 6 MHz sound carrier and this may be modulated
with 1 kHz by depressing button @.
Socket © delivers the video signal. Its amplitude and polarity are set by selector
(3 and control @.
The VHF/UHF signal via
selected by switch @ can be attenuated by control
(®. Tuning is by control @ (coarse) and control @ (fine).
For the channel selection observe the correct side-band. !n the case of the FG5
this corresponds to the first possible tuning point when tuning from a lower to
a higher channel number.
Examples

Focus
The vertical
lines are used
to check and adjust the beam
focus. With correct
contrast and brightness adjustment, all lines must be sharply defined.
If this is
not so, if there are parallel! ghost lines or if there are brightness
variations
between
vertical and horizontal grid lines, check the operation of the IF stages
and the video amplifier.
Linearity
The circle display is used to check linearity. To simplify also use grid pattern and
adjust line linearity by setting for equal
spacing
of the vertical
lines, frame-
linearity by setting for equal spacing of the horizontal lines.
