5. Maintenance
Overflow valves are sensitive to dirt. Contamination or foreign bodies inside can lead to functional
restrictions or even a functional failure. We therefore recommend installing an additional filter in the inlet
pressure area of the overflow valve to keep dirt away from it.
The automatic function of the valve requires maintenance for proper operation. It is important that
maintenance work is planned and carried out at periodic intervals.
Depending on the nature of the flow medium, overflow valves may require annual maintenance.
When operating in limit ranges, the maintenance interval may be further reduced.

Preventive maintenance
The time intervals listed here are recommendations and guide values. They may vary depending on

well as the correct adjustment of the control and functional components.
In rare cases, the diaphragm may be damaged, for example by foreign bodies, by excess temperature or
by aggressive media.
In such cases, a leak to the outside occurs. This is immediately recognizable because the medium then
flows through the vent hole in the spring cap.
Overflows should therefore be inspected regularly (see table) so that such damage can be detected at an
early stage.
