EN
OPERATION
Read the enclosed safety instructions before you start
working with the tool in order to prevent accidents at
work with the tool.
Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of the
power source must correspond to the data written on
the tool name plate.
Tool start-up
Switching on: Slide the lock-off button forward and thus the
crank switch is released.
Push the crank switch towards the handle.
Switching off: Release the crank switch
HSW 6236EK, HSW 6238EK, HSW 6256EK:
Locking:
When the tool is switched on, push the lock-off
button forward and hold it. Then release the
crank switch .
Switching off: Press the crank switch for a short time and
then release it.
Description of electronic versions of one-hand angle grinders:
HSW 6236EK, HSW 6238EK, HSW 6256EK, HSW 6276CEK
Soft start (HSW 6236EK, HSW 6238EK, HSW 6256EK, HSW
6276CEK) allows the working speed to be reached without provoking
a reacting torque on starting the machine, and the maximum speed
is achieved after two seconds. You can start working after that time.
Constant electronic speed adjustment (HSW 6276CEK) holds the
speed between no-load and working load nearly constant.
At short high overloading or long low overloading of the tool, the
built in overload protection electronics limits the tool's operation,
which turns very slowly when the load is removed or it stops, if it
is loaded again. By switching it off and repeating the starting
procedure the tool will work normally.
Frequent operation of overload protection signifies that the tool
is excessively overloaded and the motor can be damaged or its
service life will be shortened. Besides, excessive overloading will
not improve either the speed or the quality of the work.
We recommend you not to overload the tool in order the overload
protection will not switch off the tool; this way you will protect
the tool and the tool's performance will be higher as grinding/
cutting discs will be less worn out. We advise you to cool down
the tool under no load for at least one minute in case of several
successive limiting functions.
Restarting Protection (HSW 6236EK, HSW 6238EK, HSW 6256EK)
feature prevents uncontrolled start of the power tool after an
interruption in the electrical current. To reactivate it, move the on /
off switch to the off position and turn the power tool on again.
Working with the power tool
!
Before using the tool check if the grinding / cutting disc
is positioned and fixed correctly to the tool and let it run
unloaded for 60 seconds in a safe position for the user.
!
If strong vibrations appear or if you notice any irregularity
in its operation, immediately switch off the tool and mount
another grinding / cutting disc. If the situation is not
improved, take the tool to an authorized service centre.
!
Fix the workpiece.
You must have absolute control over the grinder during work (see
Figure – position of the worker during work). Start working only
when the disc has reached its full speed.
Excessive pressure on the tool will not improve either the speed or
the quality of the work. It will merely fatigue the tool and shorten its
service life.
!
In case the tool is jammed, immediately switch it off and
unplug it. Continue working only when the cause of jamming
has been removed.
!
Never cover ventilation slots on the motor housing. Closed
ventilation slots will cause motor overheating and damage to
17
the tool.
Grinding metals
!
Never use cutting discs for grinding.
During grinding with a grinding disc or sanding with sanding paper,
hold the tool at an angle of 20° to 30° to the part being worked on.
Apply light pressure during grinding by moving the grinder along
the workpiece. This way you will prevent overheating the workpiece
and different colour of grinding.
Cutting metals
During cutting, maintain an angle of 30° to 40° between the tool's
main axle and the part to be worked on.
Move the grinder moderately according to the material of the
workpiece. Prevent seizing into the workpiece and oscillation.
Move the grinder in the opposite direction otherwise the cutting
disc could fall out of the cut.
Be careful that sparkles generated during work do not reach
inflammable substances or persons in the vicinity.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
Always disconnect the plug from power source
before making any adjustments on the power
tool!
Maintenance and care
• Your tool does not need any special care, though in time you
should check the parts that will wear out under normal working
conditions. This includes checking and replacing shut-off
graphite brushes and the lubricant in the reducing gearbox. We
suggest that you contact our authorized Service Centers.
!
Keep the tool and supply cord clean. Wipe the surface of the
tool with a soft cloth.
!
Ventilation slots must be cleaned regularly. Clean them with
a brush or compressed air.
!
It is not allowed to use household cleaning agents that
contain petrol, trichloroethylene, ammonia and chlorides.
These substances corrode and damage plastic parts of the
tool.
Servicing
!
In case of electric or mechanical damage take the power tool
to one of the officially registered Perles Service Centers.
Each individual tampering with the tool can be dangerous.
!
Repair in unauthorized service centers are performed at your
own risk.
!
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has
to be done by Perles or an authorized Perles service agent in
order to avoid a safety hazard.
Service drawings spare parts information and addresses of Service
Centers are also available on: www.perles.com
