Cleaning the charging unit and brush
container
• Disconnect the charging unit from the
mains supply.
• Take the removable brush insert out of the
charging unit. Then you can clean the inte-
rior and the brush insert with a mild cleaning
agent.
• Clean the charging unit including housing
and cover with a slightly damp cloth. Allow
the charging unit to dry completely before
its next use.
• Use the order number SZA 09 to order
replacement toothbrushes in packs of 4,

7. Disposal

In the interest of protecting the environment,
the unit must not be thrown out with the
household waste at the end of its service life.
Dispose of the unit at a suitable collection or
recycling point.
Follow the local regulations for dis-
posal of materials. Dispose of the
unit in accordance with EC Directive
2002/96/EC - WEEE (Waste Electri-
cal and Electronic Equipment). For any que-
ries please contact the municipal authority
responsible for disposal.
Standard and rechargeable batteries should
not be disposed of in household waste. As a
consumer, you are legally obliged to return
used batteries and rechargeable batteries for

district or sales outlets where batteries and
rechargeable batteries of this type are sold.
The codes below are printed
on batteries containing
harmful substances: Pb =
battery contains lead, Cd =
battery contains cadmium,
Hg = battery contains mer-
cury.
This unit contains a rechargeable
battery that is built into the handle
unit. The rechargeable battery
contains nickel metal hydride.
Before disposing of the unit, you must first
remove the rechargeable battery and dispose
of it separately. Ensure that the rechargeable
battery is fully discharged.
First, remove the brush head. Then loosen
the screw on the bottom of the handle unit.
Lever the bottom out of the handle unit using
a screwdriver. Turn the unit over and set the
vibrating axis on a hard surface.
Lever the two latches that are now visible
towards the centre of the housing and
press the housing downwards. You can now
remove the rechargeable batteries. Ensure
that the soldered cords are disconnected
individually with pliers.
