ot otherwise stated, all messurings and adjustments
iuld be executed with a supply voltage of + 14 V at pins
nd 7 (ground) of the A socket. The location of the test
{ adjustment points (MP) may be see in Fig. 1. All vol-
es should be measure to chassis. For ail measurings

\djusting Tape Speed and Tape Tension (R 192)
2 speed must be tested using a speed test tape, like
iF (3150 Hz at V - 9.5 cm/s) wound to the middle of the
(presupposing a full 13-cm reel).
|
i\djust the motor speed for tape speed 2.4 cm/s, use
mer R 192 to reach a frequency reading of 787.5 Hz at
monitor output. Tape speed 9.5 cm/s is adjusted by
ring the rotor bedding sideways until reaching a frequ-
y reading of 3150 Hz (see Fig. 2). Load a full 13-cm
onto left hub, place tape around the tape-tension re-
itor and, witha 100 p spring balance slanting upwards
ard the head mount, pull off evenly. The START func-
must be switched on, however. The test value should

v. HF Frequency ana Erase Head Resonance (R 49, R 47,
L5, Li)
Connect an LF millivoltmeter to TP 3. Switch the 6000 RE-
PORT
UNIVERSAL
to record
mode.
Alternatingly
using
R 49 (frequency) and R 47 (symmetry), adjust frequency
to 100 kHz {+0.5 kHz) and symmetry to1 : 1.Connectamil-
livoltmeter at low capacitance (less than 50 pF) to MP 4,
then adjust the erase-head voltage (track 1) by means of
L
Sto maximum resonance (approximately 32 V). Set CUE
switch to ON position and repeat the adjustment proce-
dure
using L1 on the erase
head
(for the pulse track
track 2)).
4. Switched-Mode
Power Supply;
Battery Check
and
Battery Recharging (R 126)
Feed in power supply at the recharging contacts in the bat-__
'tery compartment (6.2 V). DC at MP7 shouid equal 9V
(+ 1 V). Reduce power supply to 5.6 V and, after activating
the BATT button, use R 126 to move the level meter pointer
to the left edge of the green segment.
Feed the power supply (14 V) to the A socket; with a load
off 33 ohms/2W
at the recharging contacts the con-
sumption should increase by 0.2 A (+ 0.05 A).

7. Playback Signal, Azimuth
Adjustment
of Playback
Head (R 46 Regulating Screw A)
Load BASF test-flow tape (315 Hz/250 nW/m); switch to
9.5 cm/s speed, and, using R 46, adjust playback signal at
monitor output to 390 mV. Load azimuth testing tape and
start playback. Using the regulating screw, adjust maxi-
rum output voltage. See Fig. 4.
8. Recording Current and Biasing, Azimuth Adjustment
of Record Head (R104; Regulating Screw B C 83a. R71)
Load reference tape (C 264 Z); feed in 15 mV/315 Hz into
the RADIO/PHONO
socket;
switch

mode and to "S" (source) monitoring; then use ievel con-
trols to set the output level at the monitor output to
775 mV. Reduce
the input signal by 20 dB, set monitor
«Switch to "T" (off-tape) and start tape transport.
.
Adjust recording current, using R 104, to an output voltage
of 77.5 mV; alter input signal to 20 kHz and, using the regu-
lating screw, adjust to maximum output level (see Fig. 4).
Using bias trimmer C 83, adjust voltage to the same level |
(77.5 mV) at 315 Hz. Switch recorder to tape speed 4.7 cm/
s; change the input signal to 315 Hz and measure the vol-
tage at *"- monitor output (it should read 77.5 mV).
Change
put signal to 14 kHz and, using R 71, adjust to
identical
at 315 Hz.
