3. Switch-On
To put the appliance into operation, turn the lower rotary knob to the right as far as it
will go and then back to the requested operating time = set the timer or choose "M" =
continuous operation.
The clock will switch off the appliance automatically after the selected period of time has
elapsed and you will hear a short ring. The selected time can be adjusted at any time even
during operation by turning the knob to the left or to the right. If you select continuous
operation "M", the appliance will not switch off automatically, but the rotary knob has to
be reset to "0" for switch-off.
Once the pilot lamp goes out the selected temperature has been reached. Cycling on and
off during operation, the pilot lamp shows the thermostatic regulation of the temperature.
ATTENTION: This means that the pilot lamp does not glow temporarily, although the oven is
switched on. Therefore, mind that all the knobs have been set back to "0" once the baking
procedure is finished. Safe switch-off is ensured by disconnecting the mains plug.
NOTE: As a rule, the rotisserie motor always gets started when the appliance is on. This
involves some slight noise.
Rotisserie function
Place the chicken on the rotisserie assembly. For this end, loosen the screw of either of the
fixing brackets and push it off the spit. Then skewer the prepared chicken onto the spit by
running the spit directly through the centre of the chicken until it is firmly pushed into the
first fixing bracket.
Then slide the second fixing bracket on the spit and push it firmly into the chicken.
Tighten the screw again.
Check that the chicken is properly centred on the spit.
Tightly truss the chicken with a heat-proof cotton string suitable for food to prevent any
meat parts from getting in contact with the heating elements.
By means of the rotisserie handle you may now lift the rotisserie assembly into the oven.
Firstly, insert the spit in the hole on the right hand side of the interior oven and then place
it in the support provided on the left hand side.
Switch on the appliance via the lower rotary knob by opting for the manual setting on the
left or for the timer setting on the right. Make sure that the meat to be grilled is rotated
properly and that it does not touch the heating elements (IMPORTANT – otherwise the
meat might catch fire).
Then set the desired temperature by means of the upper rotary knob.
Now select 'upper heat' using the rotary knob in the middle.
For the grilling procedure, we recommend that you fill about half of the baking tray with
water and insert it in the lower guiding to make it act as a drip pan. By this means,
dripping fat will be collected and the appliance will stay clean and your food will become
especially tender due to the ascending steam.
If you would like to prepare rolled roast meat, for instance, you can also operate the
rotisserie spit using the upper/lower heat setting.
Tips
Always pre-heat the oven until the desired temperature has been reached before you put
in the food to be cooked.
The best cooking results are achieved if you turn round the baking tray after about half of the
cooking time has elapsed, so that the food to be cooked is shifted from the rear area to the front.
