21 Commissioning
The initial commissioning must only be performed by suitably qualified personnel, taking into
consideration the safety instructions.
Before commissioning, all loose pipes must be protected against uncontrolled movements due to
shocks from the pumped medium.

Special dangers during initial commissioning:
Serious personal injuries and material damage can occur through
incorrect behaviour during incidents. Therefore you must familiarise
yourself with the rules for incidents prior to commissioning.
Serious material damage and/or life-threatening injuries to people
can occur through improper types of use.
The pump must not exceed the maximum permitted pressure.
The pipework system must be checked for continuity prior to
commissioning. So for example the settings of any valves etc.
installed must be checked.
The pump must not discharge against closed valves.
Faulty connections can cause an unexpected startup of the product
or uncontrolled movements.
Always reckon with the possibility, that when mixing or pumping
substrates, gases with suffocating or explosive effect can be
released. It is therefore essential to ensure that there is sufficient
ventilation and/or extraction of fumes!
Because of a build-up of pressure due to the formation of gas, a pipe
must not be permanently shut off before and after the pumping
operation.
Flotation and sedimentation layers must be fully agitated and the tank
contents homogenised prior to pumping out.
If this is not ensured, the pump performance may drop sharply and the
tank may no longer be fully emptied.
Cavitation damage may also occur on the pump.
