WARNING!
An avalanche transceiver does not protect
against avalanches! To be prepared for
an emergency, it is essential to practice
victim rescue scenarios on a regular
basis. Detailed knowledge of avalanche
prevention is required before heading
out in avalanche hazardous terrain.
Always plan your tours thoughtfully and
make sure your transceiver is in SEND
mode before starting your tour. Bear in
mind that solely carrying a beacon is not
enough – for a rescue, always carry a
shovel and probe on your tours as well.
In an emergency the basic line of action,
as explained in specialist publications and
material from avalanche courses, must be
followed. We recommend you follow best
practices and always check both SEND
and SEARCH functions on your transceiver
prior to each use.
