PECIAL FEATURES
l
Integral automatic battery switch
The receiver includes an automatic battery switch based
on two diodes. If one battery fails, the second battery
continues to supply power to the system.
l
Automatic detection of number of channels (9 / 12)
12-channel format: MULTIPLEX PROFI mc 4000
Can be changed to GRAUPNER mc-24 12-channel format
by Customer Service dept.

Program the fail-safe positions!
You may need to re-program the positions if you make
changes to the model or switch to a different model.
In its default state the receiver has no fail-safe positions
(è 6. Default state: stand-by).
l
Check all the model's functions, including the fail-safe
programming, before every flight.
l
Check the electronics and mechanical systems of your
model at regular intervals. This includes a range check,
as described in the instructions supplied with your TX.
3. C
RYSTALS
Use your receiver only with genuine
MULTIPLEX dual-conversion crystals.
The transmitter and receiver crystals
must bear the same channel number.
Dual-conversion

feature a clear sleeve and bear the code letter E before the
channel number.

NSTALLATION TIPS
l
Keep the receiving system components well away from
powerful electric motors and electrical ignition systems.
Keep the ignition battery and the receiver battery as far
apart as possible. Guideline: 150 mm
l
Protect the receiver from vibration (pack in foam, stow
loosely in the model).
l
Don't alter the length of the aerial (90 cm).
l
Deploy the aerial directly away from the receiver in as

straight a line as possible. Never leave it coiled up.
l
Route the aerial away from other parts of the receiving
system and power supply, i.e. don't run it over or along-
side them, and not parallel to servo leads.
l
Do not install the aerial inside model components which
are reinforced with carbon fibres (shielding effect).
l
Do not attach or stick the aerial to model components
which are reinforced with carbon fibres (shielding ef-
fect).
l
If the servo leads are longer than 50 cm, separation fil-
ters (ferrite rings) must be used.
l
Keep the battery leads as short as possible, and use ca-
ble of large cross-section.

UPPLY
The RX 12 DS IPD can be used with one battery (connected to
B1) or with two batteries via the integral automatic battery
switch (connected to B2a and B2b).
!
!
Be sure to observe the following points!
!
!
Check the maximum permissible operating voltage of the
components which are connected to the receiver!
5.1 Operating the receiver with one battery
If you use a single battery, it must be connected to socket B1.
Sockets B2a and B2b must be left unused .
A battery consisting of 4 to 6 cells can be connected to
socket B1. If you wish to use more than 4 cells, ensure that
the other components connected to the system (servos,
gyro, ...) are suitable for the higher voltage.
5.2 Operating the receiver with two batteries
If you use two batteries, they must be connected to sockets
B2a and B2b.
Socket B1 must be left unused.
The only batteries which you can connect to sockets B2a
and B2b are 5-cell packs, as the extra voltage is required to
compensate for the voltage drop through the automatic
battery switch (approx. 0.25 V). This is an inevitable feature of
this type of circuit.
The automatic battery switch works as follows: current is
always drawn primarily from the battery with the higher
voltage. The two batteries must have the same number of
cells (5), and must be of identical capacity and cell type. If
one battery fails completely, the second battery continues to
provide power to the system.
To check the packs you can use a separate switch harness
with monitor (5-cell version) for each battery.
!
!
Observe the maximum current limit!
The maximum continuous current capacity of the
integral automatic battery switch is 5 A, which equates
