Before using for the first time, read these instructions carefully and in full
These instructions relate only to the Clearflow 3 compressed air filter system.
USE
The Clearflow 3 compressed air filter system has been developed by Honeywell to deliver high quality breathable air to breathing apparatus.
Air is taken from the factory compressed air system and particulates, oil droplets and water are removed by the coalescing filter.
Oil vapour and odours are then removed by the activated carbon filter.
The Clearflow 3 range is available in wall-mounted and portable skid versions.
The part numbers for Clearflow 3 Systems are given below:

1763904
1763905
1763906
1763911
1763912
1763909

* Supplied without quick connectors (should be purchased separately based on specific user requirements).
INSTALLATION OF WALL-MOUNTED SYSTEMS
Fix the fully assembled filter system to a flat wall near the working area at a convenient height. Remember to leave enough clearance
beneath the system (at least 40 cm) to allow the filter housing bowls (12) to be removed and the filter elements replaced.
Connect the factory compressed air system to the isolating valve (1) with a ½" BSP male connector. Connect the supplied breathing
apparatus to the quick connections (9) using the hoses specified in the user Instructions supplied with this apparatus.
INSTALLATION OF PORTABLE SKID-MOUNTED SYSTEMS
The portable skid allows the user to move freely in the workplace. Connect the isolating valve (1) to the compressed air system using a ½"
BSP male connector. The flexible hose joining the system to the factory compressed air system should have internal diameter 14 mm (½").
Connect the supplied breathing apparatus to the quick connections (9) using the hoses specified in the user Instructions supplied with this
apparatus.
CHECKING THE AIR PRESSURE
The air inlet valve (1) should be opened slowly to prevent a pressure surge at the inlet. This can otherwise cause the filter blocking
indicator (6) to read incorrectly.
The air pressure in the system is indicated by the pressure gauge (8) and can be adjusted using the pressure regulator valve (7). Once the
air pressure is satisfactory, push the knob (3) down to lock the setting. The working pressure should be set according to the user instructions
for your breathing apparatus, up to a maximum of 7 bar (102 psi).
REPLACING THE FILTERS
The isolating valve (1) must be closed before replacing the filters (10 & 11).
COALESCING FILTER
The coalescing filter (10) should be replaced when the filter blocking indicator (6) changes colour, or after 1,000 working hours (whichever
occurs first).
To access the filter (10), push the filter housing bowl (11) up, rotate it anti-clockwise and remove it. Then unscrew the used filter element and
replace it with a new one.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
The activated carbon filter (11) should be replaced after 1,000 working hours or if odours are detected inside the breathing apparatus
(whichever occurs first). It can also be changed at the same time as the main coalescing filter.
To access the filter (11), rotate the filter housing bowl (12) one ¼ turn anti-clockwise and remove it. Then unscrew the used filter element and
replace it with a new one.
Replace the filter housing bowl and rotate it clockwise until it locks into position.
