installation
Select a location for mounting that is not directly exposed to sunlight (measuring er-
rors for temperature and humidity). Keep sufficient clearance to radiators. In order
not to influence the measuring results an outdoor mounting location should also be
rain protected. It must not be used in or under water, this will destroy it.
The mounting is carried out as follows:
Fix a screw (not supplied) into the desired wall, leaving the head of the screw pro-
truding about 5 mm from the wall. The screw head is to be of a size that it cannot
slip through the slit of the mounting eye. Hang the unit by the rear suspension eye
carefully on this screw.
Wall mounting is only possible on straight, vertical walls. Make sure that the
unit is safely hanging on the screw before letting it go.
thermometer and hygrometer
The thermometer measures the temperature in degrees Celsius. The hygrometer
measures the percentage of moisture in the air (RH). This value is "relative" because
depending on the temperature the air can hold various large amounts of moisture.
The thermometer and hygrometer displays are pre-set at the factory. To
adjust the temperature and hygrometer you compare the numbers with a
correctly functioning reference instrument. Deviations on the pointer can
be corrected by gently turning the adjustment screw on the back.
liVing Climate
If the air in the room is too warm and too dry it is bad for your health, especially for
your skin and respiratory tract. The right temperature and humidity play a role for
plants, wood floors, antique furniture, musical instruments and books.
By controlling the indoor environment you feel more comfortable and save on heat-
ing costs. The right temperature and humidity vary with use from room to room. The
following guidelines are recommended:
Staircase
15 °C
Bedroom
16 - 18 °C
Kitchen
18 °C
Living room
20 °C
Bathroom
23 °C
handling
-
Allow the device to reach room temperature before switching it on. This may
take several hours.
-

-
Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation
location and during transportation:
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or
loudspeakers
