To use the Rocket Stove, you can first lay the Cooking Support with the Rocket Stove Griddle Plate,

then place the ash tray on the Rocket Stove. Next, open the combustion chamber flap completely. This
allows you to position your kindling material in the center of the combustion chamber and light it.

Thanks to the fuel support, you can push twigs and branches continuously and safely. If you want to
place the Griddle Plate with Cooking Support during use, wear fireproof gloves.
When you operate the Griddle Plate, occasionally the fire may briefly go out causing more smoke. This
is caused by overfilling the fireplace or insufficient air supply. To correct the problem, refill with small,
dry woods or light the smoke directly with a match. The smoke will stop immediately.

Care and storage

If you take proper care of your Rocket Stove Griddle Plate, it will last for generations. Here you should
follow some important basic rules.
• Always heat the plate and the fat slowly so that the material has enough time to expand.
• In the beginning, you will need a little more fat to cook on the Griddle Plate. The more it is used and
the darker it gets, the less grease will be needed as a patina will have formed.
• Never clean the Rocket Stove Griddle Plate (and support rack) in the dishwasher or with detergent!
This can damage the patina.
• It is sufficient if you wipe the Griddle Plate after use with a paper towel or rinse it with hot water and
clean it with a standard dishwashing brush or sponge. We recommend Petromax Chain Mail Cleaner
to gently remove burnt-on residue without damaging the patina. Dry the Rocket Stove Griddle Plate
well and lightly grease it to seal the surface. Use Petromax food-safe Care Conditioner or a neutral
oil or vegetable fat for this purpose. Olive oil is not suitable because it cannot be heated to a very
high temperature during frying. Also clean and maintain the support rack as well as the separately
available accessories before storing.
• Remove ash or soot deposits before storing the Griddle Plate. Always store your Rocket
Stove Griddle Plate in a dry place, ideally covered with a cloth, and avoid accumulation and
condensation: never store it wet and untreated. The Cooking Suppport and Griddle Plate
are not painted and are therefore susceptible to corrosion.

Accessories

The Rocket Stove Griddle Plate Cooking Support is the sturdy support for cooking utensils on the Rocket
Stove. You can use all the Dutch Ovens, with or without legs, the Griddle and Fire bowl fs38, the Fire
and Grill Skillets, the Percolators, the Tea Kettles and the Wrought-iron Pans for cooking and roasting.
