Fault Localisation, Troubleshooting
CAUTION
Remediation of any of the faults described below may only be carried out
by a trained technician.

measuring range

Displayed value exceeds
(blinking!)
measuring range
Start of firing curve not
PErr
possible because actual
value ≥ desired value 1
Exceeding or falling short of the measuring range includes the following events:
• Sensor break / sensor short circuit
• Measured value is not within the measuring range of the sensor
• Display overflow
During the initialization of the device (all displays turned on, upper 7-segment-display
is blinking), you cannot press any key.
Self-Optimization
Self-optimization is performed according to the oscillatory method and will determine
the optimum parameters for a PID or PI controller.
Depending on the configured controller type (two-point, three-point, steady controller)
and the controller structure (parameterization), the following parameters will be
optimized:
• Proportional range (Pb1, Pb2)
• Derivative time (dt)
• Reset time (rt)
• Cycle time (Cy1, Cy2)
• Filter time constant (dF; parameter of the analog inlet)
Action
• Is the medium to be measured
within the measuring range
(too hot – too cold?)
• Check sensor for sensor break
or sensor short circuit
• Check connection of sensor and
the connecting clamps
• Check line
• Check if the connected sensor
matches the configured sensor type
The firing curve can be started if
actual value < desired value 1
