DIGITAL CLOCK THERMOSTAT FOR HEATING MAX 1 A
1. DESCRIPTION
This digital clock thermostat is suitable for flush mounting in an interior wall or partition.
This thermostat is used to control electronic valves or electrical heating in order to regulate the temperature
of the room.
This thermostat is available in all Niko finishings and comes in the following two versions:
• xxx-88102 for claw fixing
• xxx-88103 for screw fixing.
It must be finished with a flush surround plate of choice.
The digital clock thermostat consists of a sensor and an actuator:
• sensor = the visible, electronic component, available in all Niko finishings and colours, which automatically
or upon manual control sends a switching command to the connected actuator.
• actuator = the built-in component which, upon receiving a command from the connected sensor, switches
the connected load. It concerns one single-channel actuator with a single-pole potential-free 1 A relay output.
2. TECHNICAL DATA SENSOR/ACTUATOR
2.1. TECHNICAL DATA ACTUATOR
• power supply voltage: 230 V~ 50 Hz
• minimum depth flush-mounting box: 40 mm
• 6 connection terminals, max. capacity per connection terminal: 2 x 1.5 mm² or 1 x 2.5 mm²
• designed for use in an environment with non-condensing humidity
• potential-free 1 A relay output for motors (non-SELV, safety extra-low voltage)
2.2. TECHNICAL DATA SENSOR
• Daily/weekly programmes
• Programming precision: ± 0.5°C
• Operation reserve: after a power cut, the clock continues to operate for 30 min, the memory is permanently saved
• Manual mode option
• Max. 24 switchings can be set
• 3 types of temperature levels: day, night and frost levels
• Time or temperature display can be permanently set
• 6 control speeds depending of the size of the room (RP value)
• Installation requirements:
- ± 1.5 m height
- free circulation of air
- place away from direct sunlight
- place outside of direct influence of the heating element
• Ambient temperature: 0 - 40 °C
• Storage temperature: -25 - 75 °C
3. OPERATION
The thermostat has an internal PI regulator and
controls the heating system with Pulse Width
Modulation (PWM). The thermostat will distribute
its control over different cycles. Depending on the
measured temperature values during one cycle,
the thermostat can control the contact for 10
to 100 percent of the duration of the cycle. The
duration of a full cycle depends on the RP-value
(see set RP-value).
Take into account the following while installing:
• response times of the control valves. They usually have a response time of 0-100% in 3 minutes.
• the lag time of the boiler. If necessary, make use of a bypass.

5. CONFIGURATION
If you do nothing for a period of 30 seconds while programming, the device automatically returns to the start
screen. After ±10 min the temperature display on the clock thermostat will be stabilised.
Basic settings
The basic settings must be carried out during initial activation or after a RESET. The basic settings are:
8
day of the week and hour, RP-value (depending on the size of the room) and regulation value for day, night
and frost temperature.
5.1. Set day of the week and hour
When connecting to the power for the first time and after each reset, all symbols and segments appear
briefly on the display. If no hour has been saved yet, the device automatically goes into the mode to set the
hour and day of the week. In this case hour and day of the week are flashing, meaning you can immediately
go to STEP 2.

5.2. Set RP value
Not all heating installations have the same response time. Therefore, the sequence for switching the instal-
lation on and off needs to be adapted to the local situation (regulation period). This can be achieved using
the RP value. The device is equipped with 6 RP values: RP1 for small rooms (fast regulation period) up to
RP6 for large rooms (slow regulation period).

5.4. Set offset-value
Certain factors can influence a temperature measurement. This means there might be a difference between
the temperature shown on the thermostat and the actual temperature in the room. To correct this difference,
proceed as follows. Wait at least 10 min to ensure that the temperature display on the clock thermostat is
t
stabilised. Read the temperature on a thermometer in the room. If the temperature on the thermostat is lower
10%
10%
/ higher than the temperature on the thermometer, the offset-value must be set either positively / negatively. In
doing so, the temperature can be adjusted from -6°C to +6°C.
ATTENTION: to guarantee a stable temperature, set the offset-value during initial activation. The factory
setting is 0.
Step Operation
1
Simultaneously press ,
2

3
Press
.
The offset-value can be adjusted from -6°C to +6°C compared to the standard setting.
6. USE
6.1. Manually change set temperature (manual mode)
If you wish to deviate from the set temperature, you can always change the temperature manually. On the
display, a manual operation is indicated with a flashing 'hand symbol', while simultaneously the symbol
'thermometer' disappears. If the temperature is manually changed, the display can no longer switch to the
time display. After several seconds, the display will show the current room temperature.
Step Operation
1
Press

6.2. Switch from manual to automatic mode
As long as a flashing 'hand symbol' is shown on the display, the clock thermostat is in manual mode. The
manual mode is automatically deactivated once a switching command is carried out.
To switch from manual mode to automatic mode, proceed as follows:
