the counterbore.
• the bushing must be connected with the counterpart by welding it in the counterbore (weld a=5) and
also at the bottom (weld a=7). the plate into which the biushing is welded must be preheated to
200 °c. attention: Do not apply any weld material at the face of the collar. this face serves as the
bearing sur-face of the ball and must remain free from any material.
• if applicable, carry out annealing to relieve from stress.
• Push the ball 80 into the hole of the bushing
of the ball fits closely the bushing.
• apply loctite 648 on the thread of the ball and secure the ball with the slotted nut by applying a
tighten-ing torque of 160 Nm.
• Fix the housing of the retainer
torque: 245 Nm.

3. oPeratioN:

(see Fig. 2)
the pertinent safety regulations must be observed when coupling and uncoupling.
No one may stand between the vehicles. the ball-type coupling may only be operated in locked state.
3.1 coupling:
• remove the grip clip
• Pivot the retainer
• Move the ball-type trailer shank over the ball
• lower the ball-type trailer shank by means of the drawbar support or a similar device.
• Pivot the retainer back into the direction of travel so that it is above the ball-type trailer shank.
• Secure with the retainer pin and the grip clip. check the correct fit of the grip clip.
3.2 uncoupling:
• use supporting jacks or similar to stop the trailer rolling away.
• remove the grip clip of the retainer pin and pull out the retainer pin.
• Pivot the retainer through 90° into the lateral position.
• raise the ball-type trailer shank by means of the drawbar support.
• Move the tractor forwards.
• Pivot the retainer into the direction of travel and secure it with the retainer pin
clip
. check the correct fit of the grip clip.

3.3 adjustable retainer (see fig. 3):
the adjustable retainer serves to compensate for wear on the ball-type trailer shank and/or the retainer.
the maximum adjustment path is 10 mm, and the retainer is set at the factory in such a way that it can be
ad-justed 3 mm in the upward direction and 7 mm in the downward direction.
• remove the retainer pin
• Pull the retainer
• adjust the height of the retainer by turning the set screw.
