Recording on DVD and editing recordings

Manual recording

You can play back and write the following disk formats on your DVD recorder.
Writable formats:
The device can write blank DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD+RW, DVD-RW discs.
Readable formats:
The device can read DVD Video, SVCD, DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-R, CD-RW, Audio-CD, MP3,
JPEG formats.
We cannot guarantee that DVDs you have written will be able to be played on other DVD devices.
Formatting discs
To record to a blank DVD you first have to format the blank DVD in the recorder's drive. This takes place
automatically after inserting the DVD and the recorder starts the read process. Formatting usually takes
around 1 minute.
DVD+RW and DVD+R
DVD+RWs can be written and deleted again but repeated recording and deleting worsens the recording
quality. DVD+R discs can only be written once and no other new recordings can be added after a DVD+R
has been finalised.
Sometimes it is not possible to record on a DVD+RW which has previously been written by a different DVD
recorder or a PC. If you can record to a DVD+RW that was produced by a different recorder, your DVD
recorder recreates the DVD menu. If the DVD+RW contains data that were produced by a computer it is
deleted by the recorder.
You can save up to 49 titles on a DVD.
Preparing a manual recording
This is how to make a manual recording:
