2.6 General Remarks

This manual contains all the necessary information required for regulatory use of the
described product. It is addressed to technically qualified personnel, who have attended
expert training or have otherwise obtained the relevant know-how in instrumentation and
control engineering (in the following referred to as automation engineering).
The knowledge of the safety warnings and safety instructions as well as their technical
realization are a prerequisite for riskless installation, commissioning, and use of the described
product. Only qualified personnel, as stipulated above, have the specialized knowledge to
interpret the general safety warnings and instructions in every specific case. This manual
is part of the delivery. In order to preserve the lucidity of the text, not all the details of
each model have been included. Similarly, all possible arrangements, working conditions, or
maintenance problems can not be described here. In case you need further information or
if problems arise which are not sufficiently covered in this manual, please contact your local
Siemens subsidiary or the address given on the back cover of this manual.
Furthermore, it should be noted that this product documentation is neither part of a
previous or an existing agreement, commitment, or legal relationship nor does it affect
such a relationship in any way. All Siemens obligations derive from the respective sales
contract, which also contains the complete and exclusive warranty agreement. This warranty
agreement is neither extended nor restricted by any statements in this manual.

Certain parts of electrical appliances are necessarily under high voltage during
use. If the safety warnings are not heeded, severe injuries or damage can occur.
Only suitably qualified personnel should service this appliance. Troublefree and
safe use of this appliance require appropriate transportation and storage, set-
up, assembly, operation, and maintenance. Units and appliances are tested with
regard to their dielectric strength at 5.55kV/3.7 kV; their output circuits, however,
do not carry functional extra-low voltage with safe separation according to VDE
000, part 40. This must be taken into account when using these units and
appliances.
