Taking Measurements

Attention! When taking alternating current measurements (AC),
the measuring cables must be removed from the unit.
For all other measurements please use the provided measuring
cables.
First connect the black measuring cable to the COM input (6) and
then connect the red measuring cable to the V/Ω/

AC Current Measurements

The measuring clamp can measure the
current by measuring the magnetic field
around a live conductor. This does not work if
phase (usually black) and neutral (usually
blue) are measured together. Place the
clamp only around one wire.
1. First, remove the measuring cables!
2. Open the clamp with the clamp opening
button (7) and place it around the wire you intend to meas-
ure. To close the clamp, release the button. Place the con-
ductor as close as possible to the middle of the clamp and try
to hold it steadily during measuring.
3. The current value is displayed. If the selected measuring
range is too small, a "1" is displayed as overflow indicator. In
such a case switch to the next higher measuring range
(2>20>400 A).
Please make sure not to exceed 400 Ampere!
