Information
for
The deck is designed to operate from a mains supply of 240 V
AC. Your dealer will install your deck for you and ensure that
your local electricity
supply is suitable and no further adjust-
ments should be necessary. We recommend
3-pin plug fitted with a 3 amp fuse be used. The brown lead
must be connected
to the live pin (marked "L" or "red" or
"brown") and the blue lead must be connected to the neutral
pin (marked "N" or "black" or "blue"). On no account should
either of the wires be connected to the earth pin (marked "E"
or "green/yellow").
If other mains plugs are used, ensure that
they are protected
with a 3 amp fuse.
Operation
Open the dust cover.

If the deck is not in use for a prolonged
tonearm to the tonearm rest and replace the stylus guard.
Making the Record Deck Ready for Use
If you set up the deck yourself, you should observe the follow-
ing points:
— The record deck should be installed on a rigid supporting
surface
which
is flat and
horizontal.
— The record
deck
should
not be placed
heat or in direct sunlight.
— The record deck should be placed as faraway as possible
from the loudspeakers
to minimise acoustic feedback
Assembly
— Remove two transport

— Stretch
drive belt over the motor spindle (Fig. 3).
— Place
tumtable
mat on turntable.
Fit dust cover into the hinges.
Note
The tonearm

The record deck is designed to operate from a mainsvoltage
of 220V AC (GB: 240V/50Hz).
Interconnect the sockets of the record deck and amplifierwith
the AF cable supplied. Observe the colour markings of the
plugs.

The earthing cable should be connected to the earthing con-

Care
and
Maintenance
Before playing a record always remove any dust or dirt from
the stylus completely. Do not touche the stylus with the finges.
As the stylus is subject to constant wearwhile playing records,
we recommend
that you have it checked
dealer (diamont styli after about 300 playing hours). Wom or
damaged styli cause record wear.
Clean the dust cover and the cabinet with a soft dry antistatic
cloth.
Never use cleaning agents which contain benzine or a thinner.
Changing
the Stylus (Fig. 5)
1. Open the dust cover.
2. Remove the old stylus.
3. Push the new stylus into the cartridge.

I. Open

3. Remove the cartridge fixing screw and withdraw the car-
tridge (Fig. 6).
4. Insert the new cartridge carefully into the holder (Fig. 7).
5. Replace and tighten the fixing screw.
Tonearm
Lift Height
The tonearrn lift height (ie : the distance between the tip of the
stylus and the surface of a record with the lift switch in the po-
sition marked "E") has been set to approx. 5 mm during manu-
facture (Fig. 8). If the distance is too small or too large tum the
adjustment
screw (Fig. 9).
Clockwise Rotation : the distance between the record and sty-
lus tip decreases.
Anticlockwise
Rotation
: the distance
stylus tip increases.
Auto Retum
Point (Fig. 10)
If the deck switches
off too soon ortoo
cord, this may be corrected.
1. Remove

Replacing
the Drive Belt

Remove

tumtable
mat.

Remove the old dive belt from the motor spindle.
Lift the turntable
off the spindle.

belt

Fit the new drive
belt on the turntable
6.
Place the turntable
on the spindle.
7.
Fit the drive belt round the motor spindle.
8.
Place
the
mat on the turntable.
