General information on radio range:
The outdoor sensor transmits the data to the base station via a radio frequency. In open field with direct visual
contact up to 30 meters. The following causes can lead to interference of the radio reception:
Shielding building materials such as reinforced concrete
Setting up the base station or outdoor sensor on the ground
Very low outside temperatures. The performance of the batteries in the outdoor sensor is greatly reduced
by low temperatures.
Devices such as computers, monitors or wireless telephone systems located in the immediate vicinity of the
base station.
Note for start-up:
Follow the sequence described in this operating manual! Insert the batteries into the outdoor sensor before
activating the base station. Only in this order can the proper functioning of this product be guaranteed.
Start-up of the outdoor sensor (Fig.3):
Mount or place the outdoor sensor outdoors in a place protected from direct sunlight and rain (e.g. roofed balcony).
The housing of the outdoor sensor is protected from moisture. The housing offers no protection against direct
contact with water such as rain!
Note: Please observe the general instructions for the use of batteries!
Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor.
Insert 2 LR03 AAA/1.5V batteries into the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor. Note: Make sure that
the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries!
Since alkaline batteries are particularly suitable for use at low outside temperatures, the use of this type of
batteries is recommended! Do not use rechargeable batteries. They have a too low voltage!
Close the battery compartment again after inserting the batteries. Please make sure that the battery
compartment is always closed! Do not use the outdoor sensor if the cover of the battery compartment is
damaged or missing!
Replace the batteries as soon as the battery symbol "
Activate the batteries in the base station (Fig.4):
Note: Please observe the general instructions for the use of batteries!
If present, remove the plastic film inserted in the battery compartment on the underside of the base station.
The batteries are used to store the time, e.g. after a power failure or after removing the mains plug from the
socket.
Replace the batteries as soon as the time is not displayed correctly even after repeated adjustment.
To do this, unscrew the cover of the battery compartment using a screwdriver.
Replace the batteries with batteries of the same type. Observe the correct polarity!
Close the battery compartment by tightening the cover again! Please make sure that the battery
compartment is always closed! Do not use the device if the cover of the battery compartment is damaged or
missing.
