Safety Instructions
Before putting the PROmesh U16 into operation, check whether it is in perfect condi-
tion externally. Always observe the technical specifications of the device to ensure safe
and optimal use. The PROmesh U16 is designed for IP40 protection environments. Take
appropriate measures to ensure proper operation of the unit in a different environment.
! WARNING
In case of suspected damage, please return the PROmesh U16 immediately to your
supplier and do not put it into operation.
Do not open the housing under any circumstances. Unauthorized opening of the
housing will void any warranty claims.
The PROmesh U16 is designed for use in PROFINET applications according to Confor-
mance Class A.

Mounting on the DIN Rail
Mount the PROmesh U16 upright in the switch cabinet on a 35 mm DIN rail
(DIN EN 60715).

Power Supply
Interpreting LED Displays
Do not mount the PROmesh U16 directly next to devices that generate strong electro-
magnetic interference fields or constantly emit heat to their surroundings. Also protect
the PROmesh U16 from intense sunlight.
The PROmesh U16 is operated with a DC voltage of 24 VDC, Connect a suitable power
source to the labeled terminals of the 5-pin 2,5 mm
2
terminal block. Connect the posi-
tive lead to the V+ contact and the ammunition lead to the corresponding V- contact.
If the external power supply is correctly connected and activated, all status LEDs of the
PROmesh U16 will light up briefly. After a short initialization phase the LEDs go out and
the device is ready for operation.
