Charging and powering
the Max sound system can be powered either by a mains power supply or the built-in battery.
Connect the AC adaptor supplied to the dC input on the rear of the Max (9, Fig1).
you can still use your Max while it is connected to the mains for charging.
Charging time is approximately 3 hours and this will provide approximately 10 hours of play back time.
Getting Started
turning on the Max
Press and hold the power button (1, Fig1) for 2 seconds, you will hear a starting tone to let you know the
Max is switched on.
Selecting the operating mode
The Max speaker has three operating modes allowing connection to both wireless and wired audio sources.
Use the Mode Selector button (2, Fig1) to switch between the different audio input modes indicated by the
coloured LED on the Power Button (1, Fig1).
Bluetooth mode – Blue LED
RCA Stereo mode – White
3.5mm stereo mode - Green
bluetooth Pairing
1. Press the Power button (1 in Fig. 1) on the top of the speaker to turn on the speaker system. Use the
mode button to select Bluetooth mode (Power LED is blue in Bluetooth mode).
2. The Power LED will flash blue repeatedly at speed indicating it is searching for devices to connect to.
3. Activate the Bluetooth function on your phone/tablet and search for Bluetooth devices. Select "Max"
from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
4. Depending on your Bluetooth device you may have to confirm connection.
5. After successful pairing the power button LED will turn solid blue.
NFC Pairing
NFC pairing allows NFC enabled devices to be connected wirelessly to the Max with one touch.
1. Ensure your device features NFC. (Note, Apple devices do not possess this feature).
2. Ensure NFC is activated on your device. Check phone settings.
3. Ensure the Max speaker is in Bluetooth mode and searching for devices (Use mode button to select
Bluetooth mode and ensure Blue LED is flashing quickly).
4. Hold the Bluetooth device against the NFC logo on the Max for 3-4 seconds (8 in Fig. 1).
(On most smartphones the NFC located in the centre of the back of the phone).
5. Your device should now be paired. You may be required to confirm connection on your NFC device.
Note:
A: If pairing is not successful, press the Bluetooth symbol (2) on the top of speaker, and try pairing again.
B: After pairing is successful, paired devices will remember each other. Unless pairing information is deleted
because of a new pairing, you will not need to re-pair next time you use a previously paired device.
C: If the Bluetooth device is disconnected the Blue LED will flash slowly to indicate it has been disconnected
and is waiting for reconnection to the device. If you want to connect a new device via Bluetooth simply press
the Bluetooth button to search for devices (indicated by fast flashing blue LED).
