2. SAFETY AND SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
Due to the considerable weight of the element, the product should be unpacked and placed
by at least 2 people.
Do not roll the cooking plate during transport, to prevent damages and blemishes on steel
parts of your OFYR
®
Classic 120 PRO+. Once the cooking plate is blemished, the top layer can
no longer be scraped down properly with the spatula.
While the corrosion is still superfi cial, the Corten steel elements may cause orange stains
on clothes, skin and the surface on which the parts are resting. When it rains, corrosive water
may run off the elements, which can leave permanent stains on light-toned stone or wood.
Place the cooking plate on the cone with 2 people. The safest way is to place the plate halfway
and then pull it over the cone from one side until it clicks into place. If the cooking plate is not
levelled, you can turn it until it fi ts correctly onto the cone. For extra safety, we recommend
wearing gloves when assembling the cooking unit. Be careful not to stain your clothes when
touching the Corten steel parts.
Do not use the handlebar to tilt the base during the assembling process. The handle is only
suited to pull or push the unit once the wheels are mounted to the base.
Only place your OFYR
Classic 120 PRO+ on a hard, levelled, heat-resistant and stable surface.
®
The wheels of the OFYR
Classic 120 PRO+ do not have breaks. When placed on a non-levelled
®
surface, use wedges under the wheels to prevent the unit from moving.
It is very dangerous to use pure alcohol, petrol or other chemical substances when lighting
fi res. This may also aff ect the food on the cooking plate. Only use fi relighters that comply with
EN 1860-3.
Never leave your OFYR
Classic 120 PRO+ unattended during use.
®
Keep children and pets away from the cooking unit during use and after use while the unit
is still warm.
Never use an OFYR
®
Classic 120 PRO+ indoors or in partially or fully closed-off spaces.
When the unit is used in a closed-off space, this causes an excess of dangerous fumes that
may result in carbon monoxide poisoning.
Make sure that the area around the OFYR
materials while you are cooking.
When using tropical hardwood, only use a small quantity at a time. This type of wood generates
such a big amount of heat, that larger quantities will cause the cooking plate to warp.

Ashes can stay very hot for a long period of time, sometimes even a couple of days. Put your
ashes in an empty zinc bin and extinguish them with water, before disposing of them
in a regular bin.
Never extinguish the fi re using water.
oppervlakken.
3. USE
THE ITEMS MENTIONED BELOW ARE ALSO EXPLAINED THROUGH VIDEOS AVAILABLE AT
WWW.OFYR.COM
3.1 FIREWOOD
Use very dry wood with max. 20% humidity.
Our preferred wood is beech wood, as it turns into thick charcoal. Ashwood works as well.
Be very careful when using tropical hardwood, as this becomes very hot and large
quantities can warp the cooking plate.
Charcoal can be used as well, but preferably only in combination with firewood.
Use the OFYR
Gloves to move the mass of coals around the cone,
®
to direct the heat elsewhere (see Fig. 2).
