2. Allgemeine Produktbeschreibung
Die Variety / Variety SP Schrauben sind universell einsetzbare Spezial -
dehnschrauben für den Unterkiefer zur Beseitigung von Eng ständen und
Kippungen der Front- und Seitenzähne sowie zum Öffnen und Schließen
von Lücken im Ober- und Unterkiefer. Weiter sind sie einsetzbar als
Distraktionsschrauben oder zur frühen Gaumen nahter weiterung zu
Beginn der Wechselgebissphase im Oberkiefer. Die Variety / Variety SP
Dehnschrauben werden mittels ihrer Retentionsarme an vorgeformte
Bänder oder Kappenschienen geschweißt. Die Apparaturen werden in
üblicher Weise zementiert. Die Hersteller angaben des Zements sind zu
beachten.
3. Zweckbestimmung
Distalisation, Mesialisation oder Lückenschluss durch Einzelzahn-
bewegungen sowie frühe Gaumennahterweiterung im Oberkiefer.
4. Vorgesehene Anwender
Alle Produkte sind ausschließlich für zahnmedizinisches Fachpersonal
vorgesehen.
5. Indikationen
Bei einer transversalen Unterentwicklung des Oberkiefers. Bei einer
transversalen Unterentwicklung des Unterkiefers. In selteneren Fällen
auch für sagittale Zahnbewegungen.
6. Kontraindikationen
Gaumennahterweiterung bei Patienten, deren zweite Wechselgebissphase
abgeschlossen ist. Bei Patienten mit einer Nickel- und/oder Chromallergie
dürfen Dehnschrauben aus Edelstahl nicht angewendet werden.
Warnhinweise befinden sich auf den jeweiligen Produktetiketten. Siehe
auch 9. Angaben zur Zusammensetzung.
7. Patientenzielgruppe
Alle Patienten, bei denen im Rahmen einer kieferorthopädischen
Behandlung eine festsitzende Apparatur mit einer Dehnschraube
eingesetzt werden kann.
8.1. Herstellung einer Apparatur mit der Variety / Variety SP
Dehnschraube
Die UK 1. Prämolaren, rechts und links, sowie die 1. Molaren, rechts und
links,
werden
mit
vorgeformten
Bändern
oder
gegossenen
Kappenschienen versehen. Die Bänder / Kappenschienen werden auf
einem
Hartgipsmodell
angepasst.
Die
Reten tions arme
Variety / Variety SP Dehnschraube werden so gebogen, dass sie an den
angepassten Bändern bzw. an die Kappenschienen angeschweißt
werden können (Fig. 3).
Die Variety / Variety SP Dehnschraube soll „freischwebend" 1 mm – 2 mm
von der Gingiva abliegen (Fig. 4). Um Hebelwirkungen zu vermeiden, ist
darauf zu achten, dass die Kraftrichtung parallel zur Kau ebene verläuft.
8.2. Verarbeitungstipps für Variety / Variety SP Dehnschrauben
Zum einfachen und schonenden Biegen der Retentionsarme empfehlen
wir den Universal-Biegeschlüssel (REF 611-122-00, Fig. 5 + 9) ohne
Verwendung zusätzlicher Zangen (Hebelgesetz). Liegt dieser nicht vor,
müssen die Retentionsarme beim Biegen am Dehnschraubenkörper mit
einer stabilen Zange, z. B. Kramponzange Maxi, Premium-Line (REF 013-
522-00), gegengehalten werden, um einer Bruchgefahr der
Retentionsarme vorzubeugen (Fig. 6).
9. Angaben zur Zusammensetzung
Die Variety / Variety SP Dehnschrauben bestehen aus den folgenden
Werkstoffen: DIN 1.4301, DIN 1.4305 und DIN 1.4310. Die
Zusammensetzung entnehmen Sie bitte der KFO-Werkstoffliste, siehe
Orthodontie-Katalog bzw. www.dentaurum.com. Das SSCP ist auf

10. Sicherheitshinweise
Immer nur den mitgelieferten blauen Sicherheitsschlüssel verwenden, um
ein Verschlucken zu verhindern!
Sollten auf einen oder mehrere der Inhaltsstoffe allergische Reaktionen
bekannt sein, darf das Produkt nicht angewendet werden.
Falls die Verpackung starke Beschädigungen aufweist, muss das Produkt
vor dem Gebrauch auf Unversehrtheit und Sauberkeit geprüft werden,
ggf. ist es zu entsorgen.
11. Hinweise für Produkte zum einmaligen Gebrauch
Das Produkt ist nur zur einmaligen Verwendung vorgesehen. Die
Wiederaufbereitung (Recycling) des Produktes sowie dessen erneute
Anwendung ist nicht zulässig, da eine einwandfreie Funktionalität des
Produkts nicht gewährleistet werden kann.
12. Sonstige Hinweise
Sollten dem Anwender und / oder Patienten im Zusammenhang mit der
Anwendung des Produktes auftretende schwerwiegende Vorfälle zur
Kenntnis gelangen, sind diese dem Hersteller und der zuständigen
Behörde des Staates, in dem der Anwender und / oder der Patient
niedergelassen ist, zu melden.

14. Qualitätshinweise

Hinweise für den Behandler / Patienten
Vor dem Einzementieren der Variety / Variety SP Apparatur ist die Spindel
(Schraube) durch 2 – 3 ¼ Umdrehungen in Pfeilrichtung zu öffnen, um
die Funktion zu testen und wieder in Ausgangsstellung zurückzudrehen
(Fig. 7).
Die Variety / Variety SP Schraube ist nur in Pfeilrichtung zu aktivieren. Ein
mehrmaliges Auf- und Zudrehen der Schraube während der Behandlung
kann dazu führen, dass diese zu leichtgängig wird und ihre Funktion verliert.
Die fertige Variety / Variety SP Apparatur wird in gewohnter Weise
einzementiert. Die Herstellerangaben des Zements sind zu beachten.
Danach wird die Schraube mit dem mitgelieferten Sicherheitsschlüssel
(REF 611-120-01, Fig. 8 + 10) 4 x um 90° (¼ Umdrehung) gedreht. Eine
Spindelum drehung = 0,8 mm Dehnung.
Der Patient dreht nach Anweisung morgens und abends die Schraube
selbst je 2 x um 90° (¼ Umdrehung) weiter, bis die von Ihnen
gewünschte Dehnung erreicht ist. Als Patient: Bitte wenden Sie sich bei
weiteren Fragen an Ihren Behandler.
Achtung: Immer nur den mitgelieferten blauen Sicherheitsschlüssel
(Fig. 10) verwenden, um ein Verschlucken zu verhindern!

Der Sicherheitsschlüssel ist für Kräfte bis max. 35 N
ausgelegt. Trotzdem ist darauf zu achten, dass die auf den Draht des
Sicherheitsschlüssels ausgeübte Kraft stets auf die geschlossene Seite
der Drahtklammer wirkt, so dass sich die Klammer nicht von der Achse
lösen kann. Bei einer unsachgemäßen Anwendung ist eine Überbe lastung
möglich und ein daraus resultierendes Versagen des Sicherheitsschlüssels
kann zum Ausschluss von Gewährleistung und Haftung führen.
Regelmäßige Kontrollbesuche sind zu empfehlen.
Die Variety / Variety SP Apparatur wird nach Erreichen der gewünschten
Dehnung durch eine Ligatur oder Verblocken mit Kunststoff gegen
unbeabsichtigtes Zurückdrehen gesichert und noch ca. 2 – 3 Monate zur
Stabilisierung im Mund belassen.
Nach Entfernung derselben wird eine Retentionsplatte getragen.
Sollten auf einen oder mehrere der Inhaltsstoffe allergische
Reaktionen bekannt sein, darf das Produkt nicht angewendet
werden.
Sollten dem Anwender und/oder Patienten im Zusammenhang
mit der Anwendung des Produktes auftretende schwerwiegende
Vorfälle zur Kenntnis gelangen, sind diese dem Hersteller und
der zuständigen Behörde des Staates, in dem der Anwender
und/oder der Patient niedergelassen ist, zu melden.

2. General device description
Variety / Variety SP screws are special universal expansion screws for the
lower jaw to create space and prevent tipping of the anterior and
posterior teeth as well as to open and close gaps in both the upper and
the lower jaw. They can also be used as distraction screws, or for early
palatal expansion of the upper jaw at the beginning of the mixed
dentition phase. The Variety / Variety SP expansion screws are welded to
preformed bands or cap splints using the retention legs. The appliances
are cemented as usual. Follow the instructions from the cement
manufacturer.
3. Intended purpose
Distalization, mesialization or gap closure by movement of a single tooth
and early palatal expansion in the upper jaw.
4. Intended users
All products are intended for dental professionals only.
5. Indications
In case of transverse under-development of the upper jaw. In case of
transverse under-development of the lower jaw. In rarer cases, also for
sagittal tooth movements.
6. Contraindications
Palatal expansion in patients whose second mixed dentition phase is
completed. Stainless steel expansion screws must not be used in patients
with a nickel and/or chromium allergy. Warnings are found on the
respective product labels. Also see 9. Composition.
7. Patient target group
All patients for whom a fixed appliance with an expansion screw can be
placed as part of orthodontic treatment.
8.1. Fabricating an appliance with a Variety / Variety SP
expansion screw
Preformed bands or cast cap splints are fitted on the lower jaw first
premolars and the first molars, each left and right. The bands/cap splints
are adjusted to fit on a hard plaster model. The retention legs of the
Variety / Variety SP expansion screw are bent so that they can be welded
onto the adapted bands / cap splints (Fig. 3).
The Variety / Variety SP expansion screw should "float" freely
1 mm – 2 mm above the gingiva (Fig. 4). To avoid any leverage effect,
please be sure the direction of force runs parallel to the occlusal plane.
8.2. Tips for working with Variety / Variety SP expansion screws

In order to bend the retention legs gently and easily, we recommend
using the universal bending key (REF 611-122-00, Figs. 5 + 9) without
the aid of additional pliers (lever principle). If the universal bending key is
not available, the retention legs must be stabilized during bending by
holding the expansion screw body with a pair of sturdy pliers, e.g. wire
bending pliers Maxi, Premium Line (REF 013-522-00), in order to prevent
the retention legs from fracturing (Fig. 6).

The Variety / Variety SP screws are made of the following materials:
DIN 1.4301, DIN 1.4305 and DIN 1.4310. The material composition is

10. Safety information
Always use the blue safety key supplied to prevent swallowing.
The product should not be used if there is a known allergic reaction to
one or more of the material components.
If the packaging shows serious damage, the product must be checked for
integrity and cleanliness before use, and if necessary must be disposed of.
11. Information for single use products
The product is intended for single use only. Reconditioning (recycling) of
the product and its reuse is not permitted, as perfect functionality of the
product cannot be guaranteed.
12. Further information
Should the dental professional and/or the patient become aware of
serious problems arising from the use of the product, it is important that
the manufacturer and the competent authority in the country in which
the dental professional and/or the patient is resident are informed
accordingly.

Information for the dentist/patient
Before the Variety / Variety SP appliance is cemented into position, open
the spindle (screw) by making 2 – 3 quarter turns in the direction of the
arrow to test the mobility. Then turn back to the original position (Fig. 7).
Turn the Variety / Variety SP screw only in the direction of the arrow.
Opening and closing the screw several times during treatment can cause it
to loosen and no longer function properly.
The finished Variety / Variety SP appliance is cemented into position in
the usual manner. Follow the instructions from the cement manufacturer.
Following this, the screw is turned four times 90° (quarter turn)
using the safety key (REF 611-120-01, Figs. 8 + 10) supplied for this
purpose. One full 360° turn of the spindle = 0.8 mm expansion.
Following instruction, the patient should complete two quarter turns (2
x 90°) in the morning and two quarter turns in the evening until the
desired expansion is achieved. Patients: Please contact the dentist who is
treating you if you have any further questions.
Note: Always use the blue safety key (Fig. 10) supplied to avoid
accidental swallowing.
The safety key is designed to take a maximum force of 35 N

kg. Please note that the force exerted on the safety key wire should
always be exerted on the closed side of the wire clasp so that the clasp
cannot loosen from the axis. Improper use may lead to overload and
consequently to failure, thus potentially excluding any guarantee and
liability.
Regular visits are recommended to monitor progress.
The Variety / Variety SP appliance is secured against unwanted reversing,
after the desired degree of expansion is achieved, by fitting a ligature or
blocking out with acrylic. The appliance should remain in the mouth for
approximately 2 - 3 months for stabilization purposes.
A retention plate should be worn following removal of the appliance.
The product should not be used if there is a known allergic
reaction to one or more of the material components.
Should the dental professional and/or the patient become aware
of serious problems arising from the use of the product, it is
important that the manufacturer and the competent authority in
the country in which the dental professional and/or the patient
is resident are informed accordingly.

2. Description générale du dispositif
Les vis Variety / Variety SP sont des écarteurs spéciaux d'application
universelle. Elles s'utilisent à la mandibule pour la suppression des
encombrements et basculements des dents antérieures et postérieures
ainsi qu'au maxillaire et à la mandibule pour la création ou la suppression
de diastèmes. Ces écarteurs sont également utilisables en tant que vis de
distraction ou pour la disjonction précoce de la suture palatine au
maxillaire, en début de dentition mixte. Les écarteurs Variety / Variety SP
sont soudés, au moyen de leurs bras de rétention, sur des bagues
préformées ou des gouttières pleines de fixation. Les appareils sont
scellés selon la procédure habituelle. Veuillez respecter les indications
du fabricant du ciment dentaire.
3. Destination
Distalisation, mésialisation ou fermeture de diastème par déplacement
de dents isolées ainsi que la disjonction précoce de la suture palatine au
maxillaire.
4. Utilisateurs auxquels le dispositif est destiné
Tous les produits sont exclusivement dédiés aux professionnels du
monde dentaire.
5. Indications
En cas de sous-développement transversal du maxillaire. En cas de sous-
développement transversal de la mandibule. Dans de rares cas,
également pour les mouvements dentaires .
6. Contre-indications
Disjonction de la suture palatine chez les patients dont la seconde phase
de constitution de la denture mixte est terminée. Chez les patients ayant
une allergie au nickel ou au chrome, des écarteurs en acier inoxydable ne
doivent pas être utilisés. Des avertissements figurent sur l'étiquette des
différents produits. Voir aussi 9. Informations relatives à la composition.
7. Groupe cible de patients
Tous les patients chez lesquels un appareil fixe avec un écarteur peut être
utilisé dans le cadre d'un traitement orthodontique.
8.1. Fabrication d'un appareil avec l'écarteur Variety / Variety SP
Commencez par la pose de bagues préformées sur les premières
prémolaires inférieures, droites et gauches ainsi que les premières
molaires, droites et gauches. Adaptez ces bagues/gouttières pleines de
fixation sur un modèle en plâtre dur. Les bras de rétention de l'écarteur
Variety / Variety SP sont recourbés de façon à pouvoir être soudés sur les
bagues ou les gouttières pleines de fixation (fig. 3).
L'écarteur Variety / Variety SP doit „flotter" d'1 mm à 2 mm sur la gencive
(fig. 4). Pour éviter tout effet de levier, il faut veiller à ce que les forces
s'exercent parallèlement au plan occlusal.
8.2. Conseils pour la mise en œuvre des écarteurs
Variety / Variety SP
Pour un cintrage facile et en douceur des bras de rétention, nous
recommandons la clé de cintrage universelle (REF 611-122-00,
fig. 5 + 9) et ce, sans usage de pinces supplémentaires (effet de levier).
Si celle-ci n'est pas disponible, il faut maintenir les bras de rétention, lors
du cintrage au niveau du corps de l'écarteur, avec une pince robuste, p.
ex. la pince à crampons Maxi, Premium-Line (REF 013-522-00), afin de
prévenir tout risque de rupture des bras de rétention (fig. 6).
9. Informations relatives à la composition
Les écarteurs Variety / Variety SP sont constitués des matériaux
suivants : DIN 1.4301, DIN 1.4305 et DIN 1.4310. Vous pouvez prendre
connaissance de la composition en consultant la liste des matériaux

10. Consignes de sécurité
Utiliser uniquement la clé de sûreté bleue fournie afin d'éviter toute
ingurgitation !
Si des réactions allergiques à l'un ou plusieurs des composants sont
connues, n'utilisez pas le produit.
Si l'emballage est fortement endommagé, le produit doit être contrôlé
avant utilisation pour s'assurer qu'il est intact et propre. Jetez-le si tel
n'est pas le cas.
11. Indications concernant les produits à usage unique
Ce produit est exclusivement destiné à un usage unique. La remise en
état du dispositif (recyclage) ainsi que sa réutilisation ne sont pas
autorisées, le fonctionnement sans faille de ce dernier ne pouvant être
garanti.
12. Autres remarques
Si le praticien et / ou le patient ont connaissance d'incidents graves liés à
l'usage du dispositif, ils doivent en informer le fabricant ainsi que
l'autorité compétente de l'État dans lequel le praticien et / ou le patient
est installé.

Recommandations pour le praticien / le patient
Avant le scellement de l'appareil Variety / Variety SP, dévissez la vis en
effectuant 2 à 3 ¼ de tour dans le sens de la flèche, afin de tester le bon
fonctionnement, puis revissez-la dans sa position initiale (fig. 7).
N'activez la vis Variety / Variety SP que dans le sens de la flèche. Le fait
d'ouvrir et de fermer la vis à plusieurs reprises lors du traitement peut
entraver la fonction de cette dernière.
L'appareil Variety / Variety SP , une fois apprêté, se fixe par scellement
de manière habituelle. Veuillez respecter les indications du fabricant du
ciment dentaire.
Ensuite, faites tourner la vis de 90° (¼ de tour), et ce, à 4 reprises à l'aide
de la clé de sûreté fournie (REF 611-120-01, fig. 8 + 10). Un tour de
broche correspond à 0,8 mm d'expansion.
Chaque matin et chaque soir, le patient tourne lui-même, selon les
instructions, la vis de 90° à deux reprises (¼ de tour) jusqu'à l'obtention
de l'expansion souhaitée. En tant que patient : si vous avez d'autres
questions, veuillez contacter votre praticien.
Attention : utilisez uniquement la clé de sûreté bleue fournie (fig. 10),

afin d'éviter toute ingurgitation !
La clé de sûreté est prévue pour supporter une force maximale de
≙
35 N
3,5 kg. Veillez cependant à ce que les forces qui s'exercent sur
le fil métallique de la clé de sûreté s'exercent toujours sur le côté fermé
du crochet, afin que celui-ci ne se détache pas de l'axe. Toute défaillance
résultant d'une éventuelle surcharge lors d'une utilisation non conforme
peut entraîner une exclusion de garantie et de responsabilité.
Nous recommandons des visites de contrôle régulières.
Après l'obtention de l'expansion souhaitée, bloquez l'appareil
Variety / Variety SP avec une ligature ou de la résine pour éviter un retour
involontaire. Il reste en bouche env. 2 à 3 mois supplémentaires pour
stabiliser le tout.
Après avoir été enlevé, il est remplacé par une plaque de contention.
Si des réactions allergiques à l'un ou plusieurs des composants
sont connues, n'utilisez pas le produit.
Si le praticien et / ou le patient ont connaissance d'incidents
graves liés à l'usage du dispositif, ils doivent en informer le
fabricant ainsi que l'autorité compétente de l'État dans lequel le
