EN
Pressure activated filter is used to purify water in ponds.
Integral UV clarifier eliminates algal blooms, so called "green water".
The result is crystal clear water suitable for fish, free of harmful metabolism products.
BENEFITS
1. Three stages of filtration (mechanical, biological, UV-C sterilization) to ensure maximum purity of water in the pond.
2. The back flush cleaning system does not require opening the filter.
3. Large sponge and bio-balls filtration surface provides ideal conditions for nitrification bacteria growth.
4. Indicator showing if cleaning of filter materials is required.
5. Hermetically sealed filter's container allows to supply water for cascades etc. located above the filter's level.
6. Easy to install in an existing pond.
MECHANICAL FILTRATION
Water is pressed into the filter at a suitable pressure, which starts mechanical filtration.
Sponge cartridges (see item 9) stop most of the debris.
BIOLOGICAL FILTRATION
Bio-balls and sponge cartridges (see items 8 and 9) provide habitat for colonies of nitrification bacteria.
They convert harmful ammonia into nitrates.
UV FILTRATION
Exposure to the ultraviolet rays eliminates so-called "green water" and prevents fish from disease, as the water flows upward through the filter on its way
back to the pond.
ASSEMBLY
1. Set the filter in the desired location. It can be buried up to the cover's level.
2. Screw the 3 connectors (see items 4,5 and 6) with seals and then attach hoses.
3. Connect the pump to the inlet hose (connector 5).
4. Turn on the pump and check the filter for leaks. (If water is leaking from under the lid, check the seals and smear with vaseline).
5. Turn on the UV-C lamp by connecting the plug into the power source.
CLEANING
Filter is equipped with easy cleaning's system, which does not require opening the filter. When dirt indicator turns red, filter materials require cleaning.
To start cleaning, turn the lever operating mode (see item 4) to "dirty" and start the pump. The dirty water is flushed out from the filter container. Direct
the drain hose with dirty water to sewer or to fertilize the lawn.
UV-C LAMP
SAFETY:
1. The unit produces harmful UV-C radiation – direct contact is dangerous for the eyes and skin.
2. Do not immerse the lamp cover in the water.
3. Permanent connection to the power supply must comply with the general safety rules.
4. The power outlet must have a grounding.
5. Lamp with a damaged electrical cord is not suitable for use.
6. Turning on the lamp without water circuit is not recommended.
DISASSEMBLY:
1. Turn off the pump and lamp.
2. Loosen the quick seal clamp.
2. Carefully remove the filter head with a quartz sleeve.
3. Gently pull out the filament.
4. Clean the quartz sleeve. If necessary, replace the filament.
5. When installing or replacing filament all O-rings should be lubricated (use a technical vaseline).
6. Never use force. The quartz sleeve should be handled with care.
OPERATION:
1. The quartz sleeve where filament is installed, should be periodically cleaned with a detergent for descaling. Otherwise, lamp's
efficiency decreases and can be a cause of algal blooms.
2. The filament should be replaced after approximately 8,000 hours of operation, or once a season, because with the time passes the
filament's power is reduced.
WARNING!
1. The filter is not resistant to low temperatures, in winter season pour out water from filter's container.
2. Do not immerse filter in water.
SAFETY!
1. Before any maintenance procedures, disconnect the unit from the power source.
2. Do not carry the filter by holding the electrical cord.
3. In case of damage of the power supply cable, it should not be replaced and the filter shall not be
used.
4. Filter should be connected to a grounded electrical outlet.
5. This equipment can be used by children at least 8 years of age and persons with reduced physical,
mental abilities and people with lack of experience and knowledge of equipment, if they have been
given adequate supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe manner, so
that the related risks are understandable. Children should not play with the equipment. Children
should not be allowed to perform the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
