1 Intended use
Use the product to decorate interior spaces. Do not use the product for lighting purposes; the
product is not suitable for illuminating working and living areas in your home.
The product is designed for private use only.
The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be dam-
aged.
Improper use can result in short circuits, fires, or other hazards.
The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.

come damp or wet.
5 Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
5.1 General
■
The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
■
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous
playing material for children.
■
If you have questions which remain unanswered by this information product, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
5.2 Handling
■
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and pro-
tect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the
product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.

Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appli-
ance.
5.3 Operating environment
■
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
■
Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam
and solvents.
5.4 (Rechargeable) Battery
■
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) battery.

The (rechargeable) battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long
period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged (rechargeable) bat-
teries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective
gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.

(Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave (re-
chargeable) batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
■
(Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
5.5 LED light
■
Do not look directly into the LED light!
■
Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
5.6 Connected devices
■
Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are con-
nected to the product.
5.7 Light chain operation
■
Do not electrically attach this light chain to another light chain. Chaining light chains can
lead to fire.
■
The lights become hot during operation and can start a fire. To prevent fire, observe this:
– do not cover the product
– keep the product away from highly combustible materials
■
Always check the light chain for damage before use. For your own safety, do not use a
damaged light chain.

7 Setting up
7.1 Placing/installing the product
Before you use the product, place or install it in a suitable location.
Important:
– Do not set up the product under water.
– Do not hang any objects from the product.
– Make sure that the cables hang loosely to avoid tearing.
– Do not fasten the product directly to the installation surface (for example with push-
pins).
1. Lay the product out entirely and arrange the cables so that they are not tangled.
2. Select a suitable location. If necessary, install suitable holders for the product (i.e. screw
hooks, nails, etc.). CAUTION! Do not place the product on easily flammable/com-
bustible materials or products.
3. Lay the product on the holders or on the branches of an indoor tree or bush. Use plastic
cable ties to fasten the product if necessary.
7.2 Installing the remote control battery
Note:
If an insulating strip protrudes from the battery compartment, batteries are installed
already. Pull the strip out to establish the power supply.

RECONDITIONS

Prepare the required number of batteries of the correct type as stated in the section
"Technical data".
1. Push the battery compartment lock in and then pull the battery tray out.
2. With the plus pole (+) facing up, place the button cell battery onto the tray.
3. Push the tray back in until it locks.
7.3 Connecting to a USB power supply
Connect the product to a suitable USB power supply to power it.
1. Connect the USB plug to a USB power source (5 V/DC, min. 500 mA) to establish the
power supply.
