INSTALLATION
The hood may be installed to work in two different ways: If
there is a possibility of installing the hood with an evacuation
pipe to the outside, it will be used in aspirating version. If this
possibility does not exist, the hood will be used in teh filte-
ring version, recirculating the air using active carbon filters.

ENGLISH
Aspiration
If the hood is used in the ASPIRATING version, connect the
plastic conic outlet piece supplied with the hood (125 mm
diameter) to an evacuation pipe connected directly to the
outside (Fig. 1).
We recommend the use of a 125 mm. diameter pipe for bet-
ter hood performance and lower noise levels.
Filter
This hood can be transformed into an air filter if there is no
possibility of connecting it to the outside.
In this case, the air circulates through opening which you
must drilled into the furniture. In order to operate as an air fil-
ter, you must use two active carbon filters which are supplied
as separate accessories. The active carbon filters must be
replaced periodically in order to work properly, at least every
three months (depending on how frequency the filter is used)
(Fig. 4).
NOTE: Do not connect the hood to smokestacks, aeration
pipes or hot air conduits. Before connecting to pipes, consult
the municipal ordinances on outgoing air and obtain permis-
sion from the person responsible for the building. Make sure
that there is adequate ventilation, even when the hood is
being used simultaneously with another product.
Mounting and fastening to the furniture
– The accessories needed to install the hood are located
inside the hood.
– The hood must be installed at least 66 cm. from the stove-
top.
– The screws needed to fasten the hood are contained in the
bag of accessories which comes with the hood. (Fig. 2).
Electrical Connection
Connect the cable to an oulet or an omnipolar switch which
must have a contact aperture distance of at least 3 mm.
The manufacturer will not be responsible if all necessary and
current safety norms for the correct and normal operation of
the electrical part are not observed.
The hood complies with European Directives EG No. 76/889
EEC and 82/499 EG on protection against radial interference.
CONTROL PANEL
This panel is located on the lower part of the hood and inclu-
des:
– 4 position switch which control the motor (OFF, 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd speed) (Fig. 5, ref. A).
– Control lamp for motor operation (Fig. 5, ref. B).
– Light switch (Fig. 5, ref. C).
MAINTENANCE
– Cleaning.
Prior to any cleaning operation, be sure that the electric
cable is disconnected and that the switch is in the off posi-
tion. Clean the outside of the hood with a non-corrosive
liquid detergent and avoid the use of abrasive cleaning
products.
– Changing the light bulbs.
Before replacing light bulbs, make sure that the hood is
disconnected. Remove the grease filter (Fig. 3) and repla-
ce the light bulb with an oval light bulb with a maximum
wattage of 40. Put the filter back in place.
IMPORTANT WARNING FOR EXTRACTOR HOODS
WITH HALOGEN LAMPS
If the halogen lamps have to be replaced, they must be
replaced by lamps with an aluminium reflector, never
dichroic lamps, to avoid unnecessary overheating in the
lamp holders.
– Cleaning the grease filter.
Depending on usage, but at least once a month, the grea-
se filters should be disassembled (Fig. 3) and cleaned in a
dishwasher or in soap and hot water. If cleaned in a dish-
washer, we recommend placing them vertically to prevent
food remains from being deposited on them. Once they
have been rinsed and dried, reinstall them by reversing the
procedure used for disassembly.
IMPORTANT
Never leave frying food unattended since the oil can overhe-
at or catch fire. When frying with oil which has been used
previously, the risk of fire is even greater. Never use the hood
where there are other devices with discharges connected to
the outside unless the perfect ventilation of the area can be
guaranteed.
To avoid the possibility of fire, all of these recommendations
and the periodic cleaning of the filters should be strictly
observed.
THE MANUFACTURER DECLINES ANY LIABILITY IF THE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE
AND USE OF THE EXTRACTOR HOOD ARE NOT FOLLO-
WED.
If the electrical cable becomes damaged it
must be changed by an official distributor.
