Charcoal comes in many forms. There is lump
charcoal, hard wood etc. The ignition time will differ
depending on material and production quality.
If we start with charcoal it is mostly made from wood.
Much of the charcoal on the market is poor quality,
often made from fast growing trees and often chilled
with water to speed production. Poor quality char-
coal can spark when ignited (which is not dangerous
but perhaps not so fun).
Charcoal that is produced from hard wood however
will take longer to ignite and get ready to use. Good
quality charcoal lights quickly without sparks, is ready
to use in a couple of minutes with the MONO Lighter
and burns during a longer period.
