SAFETY WARNINGS

When using the machine, always observe the
enclosed safety warnings as well as the additional
safety warnings.
The following symbols are used throughout this
manual:
Denotes risk of personal injury or
damage to the machine.
Important information about the use of
the machine.
The following pictograms are shown on the
appliance:
Danger of personal injury or material
damage.
Danger of flying objects.
Risk of injury from sharp blades.
Use suitable tools for maintenance work.
Keep bystanders away from the machine.
Remove the security key when leaving
the machine unattended or performing
maintenance.
Do not use the machine when it is
raining.
Make sure that no persons, especially
children, are nearby when mowing.
Shut off the engine completely before
leaving the machine.
Keep hands and feet away from sharp
parts.
Keep hands away from rotating parts.
Wear hearing protection and safety
glasses.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR
LAWN MOWERS
• It is prohibited to use the machine for trimming
bushes, hedges and shrubs, for mowing and
shredding climbing plants or for mowing lawns on
roof plants or for use in flower boxes. It is also
prohibited to use the machine to shred tree and
hedge debris, vacuum sidewalks and level
uneven ground.
• The machine must not be used by children under
the age of 16, persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or persons
unfamiliar with the use of the machine.
• The machine must not be used by people who
are tired, under the influence of alcohol, drugs
and/or medicines.
• Wear sturdy shoes or boots to protect your feet.
Do not operate the machine when barefoot or in
open sandals.
• Wear long pants to protect your legs.
• Before using the machine, remove sticks, stones,
wire and other obstructions from the mowing area.
• Always check the condition of the cutting
mechanism before use. Do not use the machine
if the cutting mechanism shows wear.
• Never operate the machine with a damaged
guard or missing safety devices.
• Do not tip the machine when turning the engine
on unless it is necessary to start the engine. If so,
do not tilt the machine more than necessary and
raise only the part of the machine that faces
away from you. Make sure both hands are in the
working position before returning the machine to
the ground.
• Never mow up and down a slope. Always mow
across the slope.
• Do not mow extremely steep slopes.
