Operating instructions
Motor Vehicle Solar Battery Protection Amorphous
Solar Cell 12 V
Item no. 2389334
Intended use
The motor vehicle solar battery protection serves to buffer 12 V lead accumulators in cars,
motorcycles, boats, tractors, etc. The solar panel converts solar energy to electric energy and
provides a self-sustaining buffer. The charge current is sufficient to compensate the spontane-
ous discharge of lead accumulators. This preserves the current charge state of the accumulator
and prevents overcharging. A locking diode prevents the discharging of the accumulator via the
solar panel in case of insufficient solar radiation.
Only 12 V lead accumulators may be charged. Other types of accumulators must not be
charged.
Observe the polarity of the output plugs!
The solar battery protection may not be used in vehicles which are actively used on public
roads. The charger must be disconnected/unplugged before starting the engine.
This product complies with statutory, national and European regulations. All company and prod-
uct names contained herein are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.

the warranty/guarantee.
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• When charging rechargeable batteries, always observe the charging instructions
provided by the manufacturer of the batteries concerned.
• Improper handling may destroy the accumulator (wrong polarity) or the panel
(dropping). In the worst case, the rechargeable battery can explode and thereby
cause serious damage. The glass panel may become damaged when it falls down
or is hit by falling objects.
• Never expose the product to mechanical stress.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impact, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a small height.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure
it against unintended use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the
product:
- has visible damages,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored under adverse ambient conditions for an extended period of
time or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• F or safety reasons, any unauthorised conversions and/or modifications to the
product are not permitted.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.

contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a danger-
ous plaything for children.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated, or about safety or
the connection of the product, consult an expert.
• For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations
for electrical systems and equipment issued by the national safety organisation or
the corresponding national authority.
• In schools, training centres, hobby and self-help groups, the use of chargers and
accessories must be supervised by trained personnel in a responsible manner.
• Moreover, observe the additional safety instructions in each individual section of
these instructions.
Installation and connection
When connecting batteries, always observe the polarity and the charging instructions
from the relevant battery manufacturer.
a) Installation
• The solar panel can only provide enough current when it is aligned directly (90°) towards
the sun.
• To facilitate installation, you can attach the panel on the 4 holes on the side with screws etc.
You can use the included screws and dowels or other screws/dowels that are suitable for the
mounting surface.
• The panel can also be set up with the stand on the rear of the housing.
• A spot without shade is ideal. Please observe that any shadows cast on the panel reduce
performance. Always keep the glass surface clean.
When the panel produces electricity, a blue LED on the housing frame lights up.
b) How to connect
• Two different adapters can be connected. The plug connectors are protected against wrong
polarity and only fit together in the correct polarity.
• The cigarette lighter plug centre contact or the red pole clamp for direct connection to the
vehicle battery always corresponds to the positive pole. The external contacts or the black
pole clamp corresponds to the minus pole.
In some vehicles, the cigarette lighter socket is only active when ignition is switched
on. It is therefore not possible to charge the vehicle battery when ignition is
switched off. In this case, select the connection with the pole clamps directly on the
accumulator.
Care and cleaning
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as
these may damage the housing or prevent the product from functioning properly.
Do not use steam jet or high-pressure cleaners for cleaning.
• Use a damp cloth to clean the surface. Do not use abrasive, chemical or caustic detergents.
They could damage the panel.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable
regulatory guidelines.
