Refrigeration Principles and Circuit Diagram

The principle of compression refrigeration is divided into four phases: compression, condensation,
metering, and evaporation. Compression is undertaken by the compressor, condensation is completed
by the condenser, metering is carried out by the capillary device and evaporation is performed by the
evaporator. When the refrigerant circulates in the closed refrigeration system, the compressor
compresses the refrigerant to a high-pressure and superheated vapor. In the condenser, it dissipates heat
into the air, while the refrigerant is liquefied and metered through the capillary device, which lowers its
pressure, and directed to the evaporator. The liquefied refrigerant rapidly boils and vaporises into gas
due to the low pressure. Meanwhile, it absorbs heat from its surroundings. The compressor draws in the
gaseous refrigerant at low pressure and low temperature. It circulates this way until the intended
refrigeration is achieved.
