ANLEITUNG ZUR ERDUNG DES ANSCHLUSSKABELS
Dieses Gerät ist zu Ihrem Schutz mit einem dreiadrigen Kabelsatz ausgestattet.
120 V Geräte werden mit einem geformten Dreistift-Erdungsstecker (NEMA 5-15P) geliefert und
sollten in Verbindung mit einer ordnungsgemäß angeschlossenen, geerdeten Steckdose, wie in
Abbildung A gezeigt, verwendet werden.
Wenn eine geerdete Steckdose nicht zur Verfügung steht, kann ein Adapter, wie in Abbildung B
gezeigt, verwendet werden, um eine Zweiloch-Steckdose mit einem Dreistift-Stecker, außer in
Kanada und Europa, zu verwenden.
Wie Abbildung C zeigt, muß der Adapter geerdet werden, indem sein Erdungsansatz unter der
Schraube der Steckdosenabdeckung befestigt wird.
Vorsicht: Vor Verwendung des Adapters muß sichergestellt werden, daß die Schraube der
Steckdosenabdeckung ordnungsgemäß geerdet ist. Im Zweifelsfall sollte ein geprüfter Elektriker
zugezogen werden. Verwenden Sie niemals einen Adapter, wenn er nicht ordnungsgemäß geerdet
ist.
Zur Beachtung: In Kanada und Europa ist die Verwendung eines Adapters nicht gestattet.
220-240 V "GS Sicherheitsgeprüfte" Geräte werden mit einem geformten europäischen
Erdungsstecker (CEE 7/7) zur Verwendung in Europa geliefert.
220-240 V "Standard" Geräte werden ohne Stecker geliefert und ein passender Stecker muß vom
Benutzer entsprechend den örtlichen Vorschriften über elektrische Installationen installiert
werden, wobei die folgende Farbkennzeichnung des Kabelsatzes zu beachten ist:
Grün/Gelb: Erdung • Blau: Neutral • Braun: Stromführend
Zur Beachtung: Vom Benutzer installierte Kabelsatzstecker sind in Europa nicht erlaubt.

Operation
1. Before starting, make sure that the blender cord is unplugged and that the switch is
set to the OFF (0) position.
2. Place container assembly on motor base so that it is firmly seated and not tilted to one side.
3. Be sure the switch is still in the OFF (0) position, and plug the power cord into a
convenient outlet.
4. Put ingredients into container and cover it. Always add liquid ingredients first, unless
otherwise specified in recipe. Do not fill above MAX line.
For continuous operation, set switch to the LOW (1), MED (2), or HIGH (3) speed
position. For momentary operation, push the PULSE ("PULS") button; motor will run
on HIGH (3) speed until the PULSE ("PULS") button is released.
5. Always hold container with one hand when starting, and while blending. Never operate
without jar lid in place.
WHEN FINISHED BLENDING, SET SWITCH TO OFF (0) POSITION.
NOTE: For blenders with timers, turn the timer control knob clockwise to the desired
time setting before starting the motor. If time setting is less than 20 seconds, turn
knob past "20", then back to desired setting.
When switch is set to the desired speed, motor will run. Motor will automatically stop
at the end of the set time.
6. Allow motor to come to a complete stop before removing container. Never place the
container on the motor base or remove it from the motor base while the motor is running.
7. Remove the container from the motor base and empty the contents.
8. Wash and dry container after each use.
9. Not For Waterjet Cleaning.
10. The use of ear protection is recommended during extended operating periods.
To realize maximum service life, observe the following precautions:
• Do not lubricate container bearing, drive shaft, or shaft seals. These parts are lubricated
and sealed at the factory and do not require any further lubrication.
• Reduce amounts of material processed to less than the full 4 litre capacity when working
with extremely viscous or fibrous materials.
• When cleaning exterior of container, keep it in an upright normal operating position to
prevent liquids from running into bearing through its bottom end.
Hot Blending Instructions: Important!
To minimize the possibility of scalding when blending hot materials, the following
precautions and procedures must be observed:
Hot materials are those which are 100˚F (38˚C) or hotter.
If you are using the standard container lid that originally came with your blender, limit
the amount of material processed to one (1) litre and completely remove the stopper in
the lid before turning on blender. This will allow venting of the rapidly heated and
expanding air present inside container when blender is running.
Always start blending on lowest speed setting, then progress to desired speed.
Never stand directly over blender when it is being started or while it is running.
Constant monitoring of the condition of the container lid gasket and the container lid
clamps is mandatory. Replace these parts if they become worn or loose, or are damaged
in any way.
Note: A special accessory Hot Blending lid assembly is available which allows safe
processing of larger loads. Order: One-Gallon Hot Blending Lid, Catalog No. CBL-10. If you
are using the special accessory Hot Blending Lid, follow the instructions packed with the lid.
