electronic, for determining the water content in the brake fluid.
Its compact design means it fits nicely into the service technician's overall po-
cket, the state of the brake fluid is determined quickly and shown in five stages
(green - yellow - red).
• Green:
battery OK, no water contained
• Green - yellow:
< 1% water content
• Green - yellow - yellow:
Approx. 2% water content
• Green - yellow - yellow - red: Approx. 3% water content Brake fluid
replacement recommended
• Green - yellow - yellow - red - red: At least 4% water content DANGER!
The brake fluid must be replaced urgently!

Brake fluid is hygroscopic – the higher the percentage of water in the brake fluid,
the lower its boiling point. When having reached a very low boiling point due
to a high percentage of water, the brake fluid might inevitably start to boil. The
then produced air bubbles can cause the whole braking system to fail. Any Brake
fluid should be checked for its percentage of water, regularly. With this electronic
brake fluid tester, you can determine the percentage of water in and evaluate the
current state of any brake fluid.

• Always wear safety goggles when handling with brake fluid.
• Brake fluid should never get on your bare skin. Therefore, always wear safety gloves.
• In case of getting brake fluid in your eyes, rinse with water and consult a
doctor, immediately.
• If you are not sure about the overall condition of your braking system,
consult an expert.

• Three diodes for the immediate indication of test results
• Battery: 1x 1.5V AAA micro
• Automatic shutdown after approx. 10 seconds
• Two sensors (liquid-tight - built into the casing)

Put in battery. Therefore open the cover by
pulling it out of the casing.
Insert battery with the positive in direction of the
switch and put in the battery cover.
To measure, remove the front cover.

1. Swith on the tester by pressing the "start" button. The
device is ready to be used when the green diode flashes.
2. Dip the sensors of the tester approx. 1 cm deep into the
brake fluid.
3. The current state of the brake fluid is indicated
immediately. The result can be read as followed:
green diode lights before test:
Ready to operate
green diode lights after test:
Very low percentage of water (< 1.0%).
Brake fluid must NOT be replaced.
yellow diode:
Critical percentage of water (1.% – 2%).
Brake fluid must NOT be replaced
red diode:
Very high percentage of water (> 3%)
Brake fluid must be replaced, immediately.
The tester will automatically shut down within
10 seconds after the measurement.
NOTE: The next measurement cannot be carried out until the device has shut
down automatically and has been switched on, again.

The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
contains a large number of requirements for the handling
of electrical and electronic equipment. The most
important ones are summarised here.
1 . S E PA R AT E C O L L E C T I O N O F O L D D E V I C E S :
Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is referred
to as old devices. Owners of old devices must dispose of them separately
from unsorted municipal waste. In particular, old devices do not belong in
household waste, but in special collection and return systems.
2 . B AT T E R I E S A N D A C C U M U L ATO R S A N D L A M P S :
As a rule, owners of old devices must separate batteries and accumulators
that are not enclosed in the old device, as well as lamps that can be
removed from the old device without causing damage, from the old device
before handing them in a collection point. This does not apply if old device
is prepared for reuse with the involvement of a public waste management
authority.
3 . O P T I O N S F O R R E T U R N I N G O L D D E V I C E S :
Owners of old devices from private households can return them free of
charge to the collection points of the public waste management authorities
or to the take-back points set up by manufacturers or distributors as
defined by the ElektroG.
4 . M E A N I N G O F T H E S Y M B O L „ C R O S S E D - O U T
D U S T B I N " :
The symbol of a crossed-out dustbin shown on electrical and electronic
equipment indicates that the respective device is to be collected separately
from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.

• Warning: Make sure that the battery is completely empty.
• Carefully remove the battery or accumulator.
• The battery or accumulator and the device can now be disposed
