Buoyancy collar for bathing therapies
Description
The SECUMAR 9S is worn around the neck and under the chin. Correctly inflated, the col‑
lar has sufficient buoyancy to maintain the wearer in a stable position in water. If the wearer
is lying backwards, it acts as a head support, keeping mouth and nose above water.
The SECUMAR 9S buoyancy collar is available in three collar sizes. For easier identificati‑
on each size has different coloured label.

Important note
This buoyancy collar is a buoyancy aid in the sense of a "Personal Protective Equipment"
(PPE). PPE's of this category may only be used under supervision! They are not lifejackets
and do not offer protection against drowning. Furthermore, it will only fulfill this function if it
has been fully inflated and is correctly worn. Take care to choose the correct collar size to
assure correct head support under the chin.
The buoyancy collar may only be used in the named fields of application.
Read the instructions carefully and familiarise yourself with the device before use. Instruct
children properly.
Make sure the device is ready for use before putting on (refer par. "Inspection"). Only use
under supervision!
Fields of application
Purpose of the SECUMAR 9S is to give weak swimmers, disabled or older people, pati‑
ents doing a rehabilitation help and safety in water. Possible fields of application for the
SECUMAR 9S buoyancy collar are swimming therapies, rehabilitation and domestic sec‑
tors such as treatment in kinotherapeutic baths, medicinal or cleansing baths or underwater
massage in bathtubs.
Kinds of baths, chemical composition:
The SECUMAR 9S can be used in chlorine baths. Material impairs caused by bathing
additives are unknown. Given the multitude of swimming additives/bath salts at present in
use, however, impairs cannot be excluded completely. Oily additives may cause permanent
residents and discoloration.
Contraindications
Do not use the buoyancy collar if there will be contact to open wounds or injured skin. The
buoyancy collar may not be used with patients that are not able to take a safe back inclined
position in water.
