Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist für den PCMCIA-Steckplatz eines Notebooks vorgesehen und stellt dort zusätz-
liche SATA-Schnittstellen zur Verfügung
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle ent-

Anschluss
• Stecken Sie die Karte in korrekter Orientierung in einen PCMCIA-Steckplatz des Notebooks.
Der Notebook braucht dabei vorher nicht ausgeschaltet werden.
Falls Ihr Notebook über mehrere solche Steckplätze verfügt, so ist es normalerweise belang-
los, welcher verwendet wird.
• Windows erkennt neue Hardware; der benötigte Treiber ist in folgendem Verzeichnis enthal-
ten: „SATA NonRaid_2Port \ Sil3x12 \ Win98_me_2000_xp_nt4.0".
• Das Herausziehen der Karte bei laufendem Betrieb sollte unterbleiben, da es sonst bei den
angeschlossenen Laufwerken bzw. der Festplatte im Notebook zu Datenverlust kommen
kann, wenn gerade Daten übertragen werden.
• Zwei eSATA-Laufwerke können an den Schnittstellen angeschlossen werden.
Falls die Laufwerke nicht erkannt werden, so ist ggf. ein Neustart des Notebooks
erforderlich!
Tipps & Hinweise
• Verwenden Sie die jeweils neueste Version Ihres Betriebssystems (z.B. Windows XP mit
Service-Pack 2). Andernfalls könnte es bei Betrieb großer Festplatten zu Datenverlust kommen.
• Zum Partitionieren und Formatieren von Festplatten, die über SATA angeschlossen sind, ist
bei Windows XP die Computerverwaltung zu verwenden. Sie finden diese in der System-steu-
erung von Windows (Start > Einstellungen > Systemsteuerung > Verwaltung > Computer-
verwaltung > Datenspeicher > Datenträgerverwaltung).
Neue Festplatten werden im Dateimanager erst angezeigt, wenn diese partitioniert
und formatiert sind!
• Wie bei 1394- und USB2.0-Geräten ist auch bei den externen SATA-Geräten das Ein- bzw.
Ausstecken während dem Betrieb möglich.
Finden jedoch Datenübertragungen auf dem SATA-Port statt, z.B. wenn Daten gelesen/
geschrieben werden bzw. wenn noch Dateien geöffnet sind, und Sie ziehen den SATA-
Stecker heraus, könnte Windows abstürzen; dabei besteht die Möglichkeit, dass Daten
beschädigt werden.
Evtl. werden während dem Betrieb angesteckte SATA-Laufwerke nicht erkannt.
Starten Sie dann den Computer neu.
• Verwenden Sie für den externen SATA-Anschluss der PCIe-Karte unbedingt das richtige
SATA-Kabel (Bauart von Stecker/Buchse kontrollieren).

Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

Intended Use
This product is for the PCMCIA plug-in position of a notebook and provides additional SATA
interfaces there.

Connection
• Insert the card with correct orientation in a PCMCIA plug-in position of your notebook. The
notebook does not have to be turned off while doing this.
If the notebook has several plug-in positions it does not make any difference which plug-in
position is used.
• Windows recognises new hardware; the required driver can be found here: „SATA
NonRaid_2Port \ Sil3x12 \ Win98_me_2000_xp_nt4.0".
• Do not pull the card out during operation. If data is transferred at the same time there is a risk
of data loss on the connected drives or the hard drive of the notebook.
• Two eSATA drives can be connected to the interfaces.
Tips & Notes
• Use the latest version of your operating system (e.g. Windows XP with Service-Pack 2).
Otherwise data is lost when operating large hard drives.
• For partitioning and formatting a hard disks that is connected via SATA, the computer admin-
istration is to be used for Windows XP. You can find them in the Windows system control),
start> settings> system control> administration> computer administration> data-storage> disk
management.
• Just like with 1394- and USB2.0 devices, you can plug and unplug the external SATA devices
while in operation.
But if a data transfer takes place on the SATA-Port, for example reading data / writing data or
if files are still open, and you pull the SATA plug, Windows could shut down and data could be
damaged.
• Use the correct SATA cable for the external SATA connection of the PCIe card (check the
plug/bushing type).

Restart the notebook if the drives are not recognised.
New hard disks first appear in the file manager if they are partitionand and format-
ted!
SATA drives might not be recognized during operation. Restart the computer.
Electric and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
When the product is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with the appli-
cable statutory regulations.
