USING THE LIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME
Even if the battery has been fully charged by the manufacturer, you should charge the
light for one day before using it for the first time. Remove the plastic strip that protects
the battery. Then place the light in direct sunlight for 6-8 hours to charge the rechargeable
battery before using it for the first time. The light will come on automatically when it gets
dark. It can take up to 4 days before the light starts to shine at its brightest.
If the light does not come on automatically at night, even after being in sunlight for 24–36
hours, check:
- that the battery is in contact with the poles and that the + and - poles are correctly aligned.
- that the light is in a sunny location and that the panel itself faces the sun.
NOTE! Do not use the lamp post unless you have filled the pot, for example with
earth. If you do not fill the pot, there is a risk that the lamp post may fall over.
- If the transformer gets damaged and needs to be replaced, you must replace it with
one that has the same specifications as the one that comes with your lamp post.
• You use the light outdoors for lighting gardens, patios, etc.
• Extend the life of the light and reduce the risk of rust. Keep the light away from any
areas that are too damp or too close to salt or fertiliser.
• The solar panel must not be scratched, dusty or dirty. Clean the light with a soft,
damp cloth.
• You cannot replace the LED light bulb and you must not touch it.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
1. Loosen the 2 screws at the top of the lantern to access the battery compartment.
2. Open the battery compartment, take out the battery and insert a new rechargable
AA battery (with at least 1000mAh Capacity).
3. Check that you have inserted the new battery correctly. Then put the battery
compartment back on.
4. Put the top part of the lantern onto the post and screw in the two screws at the top
of the lantern.
5. Turn the power switch on.
