What to do now?
The next thing you can do is to take care of the parcels
and orders.
To do this, set up a storage contract with your known
parcel service providers. This is necessary for the parcel
delivery service to be allowed to enter your garage. You
can do this on the websites of the parcel service provi-
ders, usually you need an account for this. Here you can
also permanently specify a storage location for your
orders. The parcel deliverers read this location on the
handheld and know where to enter the text. It is best
to use this text: „Please place my delivery in the garage.
Use the scanner attached to the garage for this: hold
the package under the scanner; the door will then open
and close automatically."
It is advisable to talk to your parcel deliverers about
this use case when you get a chance. Explain to them
how they need to hold the parcels under the maveo
scanner - and that the door will close again automatical-
ly. It's best to show them an exact drop-off location, for
example away from your car.
Now you can order online and have packages delivered
to your garage. Once you receive shipping confirma-
tions, you can copy the tracking numbers, add a new
expected deliveries in the maveo app, and paste those
numbers. Also, pay attention to the expected delivery
date indicated.
What do the colors of the maveo
scanner mean?
• If the maveo scanner is blue, everything is fine and
the scanner is waiting for your orders.
• The maveo scanner lights up green for a short time
when a scan was successful.
• The maveo scanner will light up red for a short
time if a code was entered incorrectly or was not
recognized.
• If your maveo scanner is constantly red, it is not
ready for use. In this case it helps to unplug the
scanner from the maveo box and plug it in again.
No data or deliveries will be lost. If you operate the
maveo scanner via a USB hub, it may work unrelia-
bly or possibly have a limited temperature range.
Monitoring
If you want to monitor your garage, we recommend IP
cameras, which are available at low prices starting from
20 €.
One example is the „C100" offered by TP Link. Here you
can store up to 128 GB of video material on your SD
card and also display a live image of the garage via the
manufacturer's mobile app. This is especially useful if
you want to check the proper delivery.
Another example is the surveillance camera from
Victure. For this model, you don't even need a free
power outlet in the garage. With a simple USB-HUB (a
4-slot connection is recommended) you can make four
USB-slots out of the one USB-slot of the maveo box:
One of them is used for the maveo scanner, another
one as power supply for the camera. This principle
works for any other IP camera that also has a USB con-
nector. The important thing is that the camera should
be learned into your WLAN network.
These cameras are not compatible with the maveo
system itself, you have to use the corresponding apps
of the camera manufacturer according to the scope of
delivery.
