Complete Manual
Before you start
Find a suitable location on the outside wall of your
garage to mount the maveo scanner. Pay attention to
the following criteria:
•
Your parcel delivery people must have free access
to the maveo scanner. For example, there should
be no yard gate blocking the way; ideally, the
garage should be as easy to find as your front door.
Otherwise, make sure that the parcel deliverers
can easily find their way there by making notes,
either with specially made notices or notices in the
drop-off location.
•
The maveo scanner or the enclosed signs must also
be visible for the parcel deliverers, so that they
understand how to use the maveo scanner. Stick
the signs visibly on your doorbell and garage.
•
Check the required cable lengths before installing
the maveo scanner. The maveo box only needs a
power connection in the garage and should be
placed within the Bluetooth® range, i.e. maximum
10 meters away from the garage door openers. If
this location is too far from the desired mounting
location of the maveo scanner, you can extend the
distance to the maveo box using an ordinary USB
extension cable. The maveo scanner is mounted on
the outside of your garage and is plugged into the
maveo box with a USB cable. Before you drill the
cable hole, make sure that you can run the cable
past the door construction.
•
Make sure that your garage is suitable to drill
a hole of 11 mm and 2 holes of 6 mm and 3 cm
depth.
•
Alternatively, you can look for other suitable
places, for example, you can also take the
metal profile of your door construction. For
this you do not have to drill a hole in the wall
of the garage, but only through a thin sheet.
However, make sure that you have the appro-
priate mounting material for screws to be able
to place the maveo scanner on a metal surfa-
ce. You should also make sure that no damage
can occur to the USB cable.
•
Your garage needs stable Wi-Fi reception so that
your smartphone can communicate with the maveo
box at all times. Check the Wi-Fi reception with
your smartphone: If your smartphone shows you at
least 2 out of 3 bars, there is sufficient reception.
In addition, check whether video streaming works,
for example. This is best done when you are stan-
ding in your garage and it is closed. What can you
do if your reception is not sufficient?
•
A Wi-Fi repeater between your router and the
maveo box increases the transmission power.
Please make sure to give your repeater a sepa-
rate SSID and only connect the maveo box to
the repeater's network.
•
With the help of a USB-to-LAN adapter, you
can connect the maveo box directly to the
router, there is hardly a more stable connec-
tion. Often, the air vents in your garage are
suitable, but please note that the Ethernet
cable must be suitable for underground or
outdoor installation.
•
Make sure that the maveo app has all necessary
permissions in the settings. It needs permission to
always poll location, use Bluetooth®, search for
devices on the network and send messages for full
functionality.
