Start-up Guide
The CTI 140.MIO16.UMTS devices communicate with the com.tom
PORTAL via UMTS modem or Ethernet. The communication mech-
anism has a low data volume and can be integrated easily in exist-
ing network infrastructures.
The device may be put into service and
operated by qualified personnel only.
The device is designed for an installation on a
grounded 35 mm DIN rail in dry rooms.
The power supply of the device must be a
grounded circuit PELV (connection between
functional earth and ground). The power
supply must be a limited power source ac-
cording to the EN60950-1 chap. 2.5 or must
be provided with an anti-surge fuse of 2 A.
The digital I/Os must be protected using a
detached anti-surge fuse of 2 A.
Insert the SIM card in the device's rear before the installation on the
DIN rail. The device must be deactivated through this process.
Never use the device in areas where the operation of wireless
equipment is prohibited. The adherence of the protection against
the lightning norm VDE V 0185 is mandatory when installing the
antenna outside. The E.M.C lightning zone concept must be con-
sidered. The device must be deactivated while working with the
antenna.

Wire the com.tom device according to the technical data. Get
the
appropriate

there to put your device into operation. When using the GPJ
Power Supply Connector (labeled in white), only com.tom
GRAPHIC may be connected to Port ETH1.3/GPJ.
